Alexander the Great is the most famous conqueror in the history of the world. His legacy and conquest has shaped the world we know today. Many leaders after him have looked to him as an example of what a good leader should be. “Alexander the Great’s tomb was one of the biggest tourist attractions of the ancient world. Roman emperors, including Pompey, Julius Caesar, and Caligula traveled to Alexandria to pay their respects.” It all started at the age of 18 when Alexander took charge of the Companion Cavalry and helped his father in defeating the Athenian and Theban armies. Starting from such a young age Alexander has been already shaping the empire he would create. At the age of twenty he became king, then by the age of twenty-six he conquered the Persian Empire and at age thirty explored the Indian frontier. He was an unstoppable force conquering the world. Alexander the Great is the greatest conqueror of the known world, because of the personal teachings of Aristotle of Stagira, his innovated military genius and multicultural integration methods.

Alexander should deserve his title as “Great” because he was a strategical and intelligent leader supported by the many battles he has won. The famous philosopher Aristotle taught Alexander which would support how Alexander was so intelligent; he was taught by one of the most intelligent people at that time in history. Alexander was merely 14 when he began to fight in his father’s army, 18 when he was general, and 20 when he became king. (Doc. 1) He had about six years of learning strategies and military tactics from his father, who took over Greece. In battles, he was heavily outnumbered but managed to still win each one. Not only did Alexander of Macedon conquer enormous areas of the known world but also he demonstrated dynamic leadership and masterful strategy on a large scale and tactics on the battlefield. During his life, he ruled the largest empire the world had ever seen, which stretched from ancient Greece to India. Alexander has conquered lands from Greece to Persia, to the Middle East and Egypt. This is a huge accomplishment because the areas he conquered was extremely tough to fight. Greece was once made up of the strongest militaries, with Sparta and Athens leading the force. Persia had the Immortals, an army feared for the fact is always had 10,000 troops on the field. The Middle East and Egypt were filled with deserts and tough terrain. Because of his reach, he is seen throughout the entire Eurasian continent. Alexander of Macedonia was truly worth of being called “The Great: because he is seen throughout the entire Eurasian continent due to the extent of his empire.

Alexander the Great was the king of Macedonia and was a great conqueror in 330 BC. He was the son of King Philip II and Queen Olympia. During his childhood, he had an interest in courses like medicine, science, and philosophy. He was tutored by the philosopher, Aristotle, and was influenced by Homer’s Iliad, which made him a great conqueror after he was motivated by the main character in the epic, Achilles. After he was proclaimed as king, he led series of attacks and invasions with his army into Asia Minor in around 320 BC. Alexander the Great, he is one the most glorified and historically significant leaders within history. Unique, the one word that could be used to describe the details and importance of his life. Unlike his predecessors that came before him, what sets him apart has to be how he rose to power and how he used that power. And even though he only lived until the age of 33, he accomplished what those that came before him failed to do so. The topics to be discussed are how he rose to power and what he managed to accomplish through military strategies and his cultural influence on the Persian Empire.

Alexander the Great was king of the Macedonians and one of the greatest generals in history. As king, he settled problems by immediate action, making quick decisions and taking great risks. Alexander the Great truly does deserve the word great in his name. He was fantastic leader, who conquered thousands of square miles, defeated one of the best military’s at the time. He was devoted to his work, he was an honorable and hard-working leader who cared about his army and people greatly.

Alexander the Great, is referred to as being great because of his battles, and how he had conquered all of Greece, Egypt, and the Persian Empire. Alexander conquer all of Greece, Egypt, and the Persian Empire but he didn’t get to conquered all of India. Alexander was great at power, but not great at ruling. The Thebes seemed to absolutely hate how Alexander ruled.

The first reason why I believe Alexander is great is because of his strong strategy. All leaders have their own strategy but in order to be remembered in a positive way their strategy needs to be unique. In Document A a map is shown with a key and in the map, you can see that Alexander was able to travel immense distances and conquer many cities along the way.

The problem is that we know about his as a mix of fact and legend.¨Alexander was called Alexander the Great but was he really all that great? Alexander was great because was a great leader and he helped conquer many places. He led his troops across central Asia fighting in battles, but also establishing the Garrison town. He was great because he was a military strategist and he spread greek culture.

Throughout the history of humanity, there have been countless leaders, conquerors, kings, or people of note. They are all noteworthy because of their achievements, or maybe their lack of achievements in a time where history was being made. These men and women are remembered because they accomplished something worth remembering. One of the most polarizing characters of the ancient world is Alexander of Macedonia, better known as simply Alexander the Great. With a name like that, one knows that Alexander must have done something during his lifetime that would still be remembered centuries later. What made Alexander so extraordinary is just how driven he was, how he conquered most of the known world by the time he was thirty-two. Alexander wanted to seize the Macedonian throne, unite many people under one rule, exact revenge on Persia, and to take more land for his nation. He may not have achieved all his goals before his untimely death, but he accomplished so much that his legacy has lived on for thousands of years, and will continue to live on for thousands more.

Alexander the Great was not as great as everyone thinks. This is because he wanted to be treated like a god, didn't care for others, and he had special treatments for certain people.

Alexander III of Macedon, more commonly known as Alexander the Great, is one of the most legendary figures in our history and in the history of the world. His conquests and endeavors echoed far and wide, bringing about new eras and ideas to the world. Alexander earned his place in the world’s history and is worthy of the title ‘The Great’ because of his military prowess, his idealism and his legacy.
