All these evil acts and obsession with greed contribute to Macbeth losing his mind and thus having an internal influence on his mind. Macbeth is unhappy about Banquo being part of the prophecy that it becomes both an internal and external factor in the decision to eliminate the competition. Macbeth wants his children to take over the throne and this greed contributes to the many evil deeds he commits throughout the play that highlight his downfall.
