To argue their point, the author elaborates the effect of not paying attention to freshwater systems and quotes other articles. With varied way the author is able to make the argument that freshwater systems are neglected and need protection. To reinforce their argument, Washington Post uses a variety of ways to strengthen the argument that freshwater systems are neglected and need more attention. A way that the author does this is by quoting other articles. An example of this is on page 2 when the author
The article “Water Works”, published by Orion Magazine and written by environmental specialist Cynthia Barnett intends to inform the reader anyone can make water an important factor. Globalization is a growing part of everyday businesses. This is the process of interaction and integration among people, companies, and governments of different nations. With the world of online retail, the buying and selling to one person to another has grown drastically. There has also been a substantial change in technology and what we as people can do in today’s time rather than in the past. Amazon is a huge retail giant and buying and selling items is one of their key functions. The impact made on Amazon is nothing but an advantage. Amazon currently is the 56th largest company in America by market capitalization. Being one the largest retailer around, 15th in the nation at that, Amazon has made a name for themselves. Amazon has made some very substantial growths and with these opportunities they face they can make even more advances in the future. (Globalization 101, 2016)
The argument claims that water sports are ranked among the favorite sports of the Mason City residents but the Mason River that runs through the city being rarely used for this purpose and there are complaints about the quality of Mason River and the smell of it. So, it is very urgent for the state to spend more money on the water treatment which will definitely increase the amount of water sports. The argument fails to mention several key factors, on the basis of which it could be evaluated. The conclusion of the argument relies on assumptions for which there is no clear evidence. Hence, the argument is unconvincing and has several flaws.
The topic for my essay was a filtering of my thoughts for most of this past summer—how can we as humans harmonize with our environment for a net, positive outcome? Water and dams provided the backdrop for most of those thoughts and not without a bit of hypocrisy since a lot of them came while floating down a beautiful trout river in Tennessee created by a hydroelectric dam. I tried to be explicit in my paper that not all dams are bad (again, see the image of that pretty river), but that the overzealous construction of the past two centuries needs to be re-evaluated for necessity and, where warranted, removed to allow nature to return to its original state.
One of the weaknesses that Amazon has would be their operational issue. Amazon is a big company and their operational issues should be considered a weakness. The reason why they could possibly have an operational issue can either be that they accidently or purposely overlooked the issue, or assumed that they will be fine and the plan would be successful. Either way, this issue could have been stopped. To big companies like Amazon, receiving a filing complaint should be common but it is not something they should get used to or else it can result in a decrease in reputation, revenue decrease, or even both. But there are some alternative solutions that can be considered.
As the drought in California continues on its fourth year, many cities have worked hard to incorporate new technologies to conserve and reuse water and farmers have implemented new strategies to reduce water use. Although humans can adapt to the drought, the environment and the species that live there, such as fish, birds, and plants, cannot adapt as quickly. Both water rights and drought in the environment need to be managed in order to lessen the impact on all parties involved and to better prepare for future drought. I chose this passage because it mentions many of the different groups involved in the controversy over who gets the limited resource of water, so I could use this to support several of my arguments.

In today’s society the value of water is greatly underappreciated, this is probably due to the lack of education across the globe. We abuse water as if it is an infinite resource, while at the same time not individually being responsible for solutions to the waste of water. In this essay I will provide a summary of the chapter that was assigned to me. I will also discuss the chapter by focusing on its core argument, explaining how supporting arguments are constructed around the core argument, and describing what kinds of evidence are used to support these lines of argumentation. The chapter that I was assigned was chapter five, which was the topic of water.
“Relentlessly focus on customer experience by offering our customers low prices, convenience, and a wide selection of merchandise.”
Women, no doubt had it hard in America's past. It is still difficult for women today to feel as if they are treated equally to men, but nowhere near as much so as in the past. Many women have fought hard and dedicated their lives to bettering the future for women. Some even risked and gave up their freedom to demonstrate how important it was for society to change. I believe a great example of someone who risked many things for the future of women in society was Margaret Sanger.
The combination of the two firms also has its own SWOT analysis. The SWOT analysis of Amazon Whole Foods market focuses mainly on the strengths and weaknesses, which is linked directly to the nature and strategies of the firm. It also focuses on the opportunities and threats that can shape the grocery industry, as well as globalization. The SWOT analysis would help the management of Amazon – Whole Foods to make better decisions on dealing with the business and coming up with strategies to combat other grocery retailing stores like Wal-Mart, Kroger, among others. If Amazon and Whole Food markets could strategically and carefully analyse and review the SWOT analysis, then they would acquire and maintain a dominant position in the market. Without
