Most people are families with domesticated animals as pets. The most common pets are dogs and cats. However, some people want to own exotic animals instead of normal animals. They pick what they want, but they actually don’t pay attention to an outcome later. There have three outcomes that people should not own exotic animals which are bad for animals, bad for owners, and bad for environment. In the Steps to Writing Well textbook by Jean Wyrick, there has an article that supports people who adopt wild animals and the name is Zuana Kukol’s Opposing View: Let People Own Exotic Animals. Based on that, the author gives a message that people should be allowed to adopt any animals because it helps animals stay away from extinction, everybody should have freedom to pick any species of wild, and exotic animals have low numbers of harmful per year. This is also a way to eliminate extinction because exotic animals are captive animals, so they will be backup when animals go extinct. Moreover, the article shows the record of fatalities per year by captive animals only around four people per year. Meanwhile, traffic accidents are around one hundred per day. The writer also supports with emphasis sentences at the end on why people have the freedom to pick their favorite car but not animals. To sum up, the author writes this article because of supporting people who want to own exotic animals as pets. First of all, owning wild animals as pets is a bad decision for animals’ life later on.
People who keep exotic animals as pets do not realize the danger they are putting on the animals or themselves. There have been around 2,000 incidents involving captive exotic pets that have been reported and 75 reported deaths between the years of 1990
Owners of exotic pets pose a threat to themselves and their community. Exotic animals owned as pets will strengthen as they grow and will eventually hurt their owners without any intention. People of America should not own exotic pets. However, many people argue for the acceptance of being able to own an exotic animal.
Owning exotic animals is both cruel to the animal its self and dangerous to those who care for the animals. Keeping exotic animals as pets is cruel. In the article Do You Really Want a Baby Tiger? by Mia Lewis the author states “The end result is that far too many of these exotic animals spend almost their entire lives in the ‘prison’ of a small cage.” Obviously, exotic animals are meant to be in environments that promote their natural behavior; forcing these animals to be locked up in a small pen
Every child has asked their parents for a pet animal. The thing is though, is what type of animal they asked for. Such as a dog or cat and even the occasional hippopotamus for Christmas, right? Lots of people buy exotic animals not knowing how much work it really takes to take care of them. For example, many people have bought pythons and when they get to a size where they can’t keep care of them they let them go into the wild. Exotic animals are very costly and time consuming, they grow up and get bigger and all in all they are very dangerous.
The members of the Born Free USA Task Force have a common goal to provide a solution to increase restrictions for exotic pet ownership, which allows for more responsible exotic pet ownership and the decreased capacity of danger to the public. In addition, it will provide for more safety precautions and ensure those exotic animals in captivity are provided for every day. The first step in our process of analyzing the recommendations of exotic pet ownership in Missouri was researching the current regulations in other states and what was working and not working in those states. Currently, every state has varying regulations and within those states, many cities and counties have assorted regulations as well.
Bandit was a hybrid half wolf and half dog, he was used for entertainment at a golf course and was abused by an angry man because Bandit tried stealing one of the mans golf balls. The man beat him with his golf club and Bandit suffered from a broken shoulder and now is scared of people. We should be able to own exotic animals for endangered reasons. If an exotic animal is kept in captivity they can be breed and make the population bigger. Exotic animals are also so great for people who have allergies, we can build special bonds with these animals
Exotic animals kept as house pets are a hazard to the pet owners and any other people around the
As mentioned in Rexano, “The majority of fatalities are to owners, trainers or people voluntarily visiting the property where the animals are kept” (Shoemaker 106). Some of these fatalities can include diseases. They can carry illnesses that are dangerous to people, such as rabies, herpes virus, and Salmonella. These deadly viruses are contagious and can lead to epidemics if not taken care of and prevented by legislation laws banning the adoption of exotic pets. Even if the animal does love their owner, their nature is still wild so, they can play very roughly causing their owner to get hurt when they’re just trying to express their affection. Additionally, as the animal grows older, they become less manageable and less trainable. As mentioned by the text, “An adult animal is also likely to be aggressive and have more difficult behaviors than a baby one” (Lewis 104). These exotic animals are adorable when they are young but have the potential to seriously injure or kill people and other animals as they mature. Even an animal that appears to be friendly and loving can attack unsuspecting individuals. In some cases, exotic pets are simply released by their owners. We can only imagine that this is a desperate attempt to rid the owners of any responsibility for the animal while maintaining the delusion that they’ll be better off in the “wild.” The only problem is that the “wild”
Exotic animals should not be allowed in our homes as pets. They are too dangerous and could harm another animal we may have or may harm us! So, animals such as pythons and tigers should not be in our homes. If someone got a exotic animal, would they want to keep it forever? I wouldn’t because of the damage and harm they can do, and it would take a long time to tame them if somebody just went out and brought one home from the pet store.
February 16 2009,A normal day for Charla Nash when at 3:40 p.m. went to her friends house, when a chimp attacked her mauled her face and almost killed her. This unprompted attack from the chimp is another case of wild animals going wild.Being underestimated and raley taken care of by their untrained owners, exotic animals are dangerous wild animals, taken from their natural home to be put in theses situations.Exotic animals are not pets, they’re not tame and they are not harmless.Exotic animals should not be allowed to be kept as pets and this is why.

There was a girl name tracy with her pet animals a lion that was to kill there own owner happening it 2016. Exotic animals are not to be controlled, yes sending
Humans negatively affect animals in many ways. One way is by keeping exotic animals as pets. Caring for exotic pets can be difficult. The average person lacks the skills and ability to care for the animal properly. Most of the time the pet owner will end up getting rid of the animal (People Helping Animals). Animal owner tend to keep the animals in cages. Animals that have have came from the wild have never been in cages and will usually become violent. If and when the animals are kept as pets, they are not able to do the things that are natural for them such as, search for food and hunt properly. Animals need regular checkups just like humans do. Most veterinarians don't have the necessary tools, machines, and medicines to care for the animal. Most people get rid of their animals because they can't properly care for them (People Helping Animals). It's estimated that over five thousand tigers are currently living in United States households. Tigers are now on the Endangered species list. “National Geographic reports that for every tiger or lion trapped in a zoo, there are as many as ten privately owned”. That is more tigers in
The question of humanity arises every couple of years, on the topic - should exotic animals be allowed to be kept as pets. Is it humane for the beings who feel pain, give birth, take care of their young like human beings do to be behind bars? According to the National Geographic 66 percent of wild animals are owned privately while the 28 percent of the animals reside in the zoo. Some of the exotic animals can be found as pets rather than in the wild. The estimated number of Tigers kept as pets are between 5,000 and 7,000, which is more than the ones that exist in the wild. Interested buyers can purchase a tiger cheaper than some of the purebred dogs, for the price as shocking as 300 dollars. Though some states in the United States do allow wild animals as pets, it is still illegal in most states or require a license for it. Most of the animals as pets are through illegal routes like underground auctions and smuggling.
Can you imagine seeing a black panther walking right in front of you right now? If that did happen you would probably be afraid for your life, or others’ lives around you. If there were no animal bans on exotics that could have happened, but it could have been an even more dangerous exotic animal. I have been doing tons of research about this topic for a few weeks now and think, bans on exotic animal is a good thing because if there wasn’t we could have serious public safety issues due to the exotics being dangerous and a health risk (diseases).
