The last stage experienced by Scott in the movie Ant Man is the Ultimate Boon, in which the hero completes his mission and does everything they set out to do, by using what they have learned in their training. Scott’s ultimate goal was to be with his daughter and to defeat the Yellowjacket. During training, Hank explained to Scott that if he removed the regulator on his suit, he would enter the subatomic realm without having a ready process that would return him to the real world, as it was too dangerous to experiment with. When needing to save Cassie and having no other strategy to do so, Scott removed his regulator so that he could shrink in such a way that would allow him to enter Yellowjacket’s suit and disable it, knowing he might not
When most people think about the power structure of a couple driving in the car they instantly think that the driver is the one with all the power. This of course makes logical sense, as the driver has control over the speed, destination and driving style of the couples transportation. Although this makes logical sense, there are a few exceptions to this train of thought, as when crime becomes a factor the power structure begins to shift toward the benefit of the passenger. Laderman mentions in his book Driving Visions that many road movies focus on a couple driving in a car, but this generally “furnishes narrative tension between the two people traveling together” (17) and this is incredibly true when the passenger is a criminal. We will be examining how crime
Lord business is the complete opposite of President Business. Lord Business is a very evil and selfish leader. Lord Business wants to take over the world himself and the leadership style he portrays is Dictatorship. Dictatorship is when one person has all of the power which Lords Business did have. In the movie “Lego Movie” Lord Business displays the dictatorship leadership style because of when head had faked the election to rig the voting, he told his slaves to destroy Vitruvius, and when he had covered everyone with Kragle even when nobody liked or agreed with him. Firstly, When Lord Business had the voting election, he had rigged the voting machines
Themes are the fundamental and often universal ideas explored in literary work. It has been discovered that there is indeed a common theme surrounding both George Orwell’s novel 1984 and the LEGO movie. These pieces of literature serve to warn its readers/audience of the dangers of totalitarianism. Both the movie and the novel portray a “perfect” totalitarian society, where the government has complete and total power and control. When one looks beneath the surface of these “perfect” societies, it becomes evident that they are nothing of the sort. These “perfect” societies have removed individual expression and has caused everyone to be conditioned to think alike. The citizens are conditioned to meet the needs
The book “The Hot Zone” and the movie “Contagion” are both about pandemics, with one a possible pandemic and the other global. They are different because of how the media reacts to the prospect of a pandemic, as well as how they contain or treat the potential outbreak. Both works showed how panic can impact and contribute to the spread of the virus.
In the early 1900’s, African-American’s were treated differently because of the color of their skin. Segregation was really big at the time when it came to the rights that the blacks had compared to the whites. Blacks were not allowed to go to the same school, ride the same bus, or have certain jobs that the whites had. As time changed, so did the issue on racism. This problem somewhat improved in the 1960’s. Blacks were allowed to ride on the same bus, had more job opportunities, and could go to the same school as whites. They did have restrictions when it came to that, but you can see that over time it has improved. Racism today is better but can still be improved. Now, blacks have the same rights as whites do. They can ride the same bus

In today society, many young black males are mistreated by police officers all around the world. In 2015, there were a lot of cases where young black males were beat up and some even died from the physical altercation and misconduct by the police officers. I felt that it was two concepts that show up in Fruitvale Station, which was racial profiling and police brutality. Some statistic from this past year, 91people was killed by police in the month of January alone; at least 1,106 people were killed in 2014. As of February 15, there were at least 136 individuals killed by police. (Fairbanks, 2015).Racial profiling can be defined as discriminatory practice by law enforcement officials of targeting of individuals for crime based on the individual’s
For assignment two, I have chosen the Disney movie Moana. Moana is a 3-D computer animated musical fantasy adventure film. The scene that I have chosen for this assignment is the scene where Moana. Sings the “who you are” song to Te
Apocalypse now illuminates the horror, and the atrocities of what war can cause. It showed how one can go in a normal citizen and return unable to make contact with the world without feeling out of place. As the characters move forward into metaphorical fog and darkness, the film introduces the idea that war reels in a darkness hidden within. In the first scene Willard is introduced as an already broken man, he’s back from his first tour and already feels compelled to start his second. Questions about his sanity begin to rise, how far has he been pushed off edge? Shattered mirror, and divorce papers by his side only maximizes the realization of how distant he is from his old self. This illustrates how war is capable to change an individuals
Even though the book and the movie have the same ending, they both have completely different endings. The movie ends with a flashback and the book ends with dialogue. In the flashback, you can see George and Lennie loading hay onto the back of a truck. They then turn to each other and Lennie smiles at George. George smiles back and they turn and walk away from the truck. The scene then fades to black as they walk farther away. I believe that this flashback leaves the audience feelings mournful and gloomy. After witnessing George shoot Lennie, the audience is already very emotional and upset about the fact that Lennie is now dead so seeing the flashback of Lennie and George together again makes the audience even more upset. The audience has
Hidden figures is a movie about racism and sexes. In the movie hidden figures racism is not a thing that is really big but there is a few big parts where the women had to walk across the buildings to get to the black women only bathrooms. White men and women would also treat black folks very different they would have different jobs because they thought black men and women did not the same education as they did. Black men and women also had to drink from different water fountains and go to different schools. The main thing is though when a women received a job opportunity at a different place where only white folks were worked at that changed everything.

The movie jeepers creepers is about a brother and a sister coming home from college. They spend the time in the car arguing, until they are harassed by someone in a car and later see the driver unloading what looks like bodies in a blood stained sheet down a hole as they pass by. After they see the brother wants to go back and investigate. The brother tells his sister to hold his feet for him as he looks in the hole. He moves around where his sister cant handle holding onto him and he slips and falls into the hole. Once he's at the bottom he finds hundreds of bodies sewn together. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder that is associated with reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and uncontrollable thoughts that drives the patients to repeat something over and over again. The Aviator movie is trying to depict this disorder through the character Howard Hughes. The story captures the real-life experience of Hughes who was a successful filmmaker and aeronautic engineer in Hollywood between 1920s and 1940s. He was both rich, talented and notoriously eccentric. Hughes showed symptoms of OCD which were very severe and incapacitating at some points. His conditions deteriorated progressively from bad to worst throughout his lifetime, though in most parts of the film he is depicted as functioning relatively normally. This paper will focus on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and how it has been depicted in The Aviator movie through the character Howard Hughes.
In Captain America: Civil War there is a very large problem that divides the Avengers. The issue is that the Avengers who have so far been checked only by their own moral codes and limitations are being asked to sign the Sokova Accords which would require the registration of heroes along with the subsequent monitoring and delegation of their actions. This is explained to the audience very well in the scene where the Avengers team as it stood then are talking about the accords and if they will sign them or not. The two sides of the movie are drawn here, with Steve Rogers/Captain America saying that the Avengers would then just become lackeys for the government who would them use them to further their own agendas, while Tony Stark/ Iron Man believes that signing the accords would benefit everyone and greatly increase the accountability of the Avengers. In short, this debate scene is introducing the theater audience to the issue and trying to get us to pick whether to support the accords or to not, this essay will analyze the appeals used by both parties.
