All conflict has started with differences between people and/or countries, it could have been different ideology, perspective or just desire that might have intervened with someone else's and it may have caused a dispute. Since the beginning of all human civilization, conflicts occurred due to differences where one individual does not agree with the other. Many conflicts led to war which would either help the countries or empires grow or bring them to their own demise. Many societies and countries became very powerful with allies that supported them in order to overcome enemies which said that many of their conflicts originated from the bad or unhealthy relationships that many people or even countries may have had at the time. There were countries, empires, and societies together that had strong international relations that led them to their shared goals and helping them overcome any terrible relationships that might have led to conflict or war between them. In Argo, Antonio Mendez proves international relations can either create or resolve worldwide conflict.

Even with some good alliances its problems would not be fixed until the unhealthy relations were fixed. Mendez states: “Iran today is considered a hot spot, one where the next international crisis may well be brewing.”(Mendez, 298). This shows how Iran’s bad relations get themselves into many conflicts and may ultimately lead to a worldly conflict depending on the growth of its enemies. Another aspect that plays into conflicts is outside powers getting involved too much or too little to secure their own influence in the aftermath. When outside powers become aware of cross-cultural conflicts they are criticized if they get involved and also if they don’t. Like Huntington’s argument, Samantha Power an ambassador to the United Nations from the US, would have us rather look at the loss of life rather than political nonsense. In her book A Problem From Hell, Power’s writes a quote from Ambassador Morgenthau saying that “unless it directly affected America lives or American interests, it was outside the concern of the American government,” as a way to show how outside powers look at these conflicts . She argues that more international

Iran, known as the Republic of Iran located in the Middle East, has been in economic and political downturn since its 1979 revolution. It is a complex government, very islamic, the problems they are facing is economic development, transforming their government into a stable consolidated democracy and defining their national identity. Iran changed the Middle East by spreading its idea 's and forms of government through more bad than good, especially war and sponsoring military allies. Many factors led to this complicated government and dealing with the Islamic Republic. The challenges and aspects inside its government is its widespread powerful nuclear program, support for extremists, rising repression and a authoritarian like regime government that has created a sense of growing crisis both all throughout the Middle East. Politically, Iran has been the most complicated and controversial country with trying to maintain Islam and democracy at the same time, it is far from over as it continues in its domestic political crisis. The outcome of its situation could affect the Islamic world as the revolution did. Iran, having one the largest armed forces and powerful nuclear programs in the Middle East is a threat that needs to be watched and maintained, even though the majority of Iran 's weaponry is low quality or gone. The movie Argo is a visual production of an event called the Iranian Hostage Crisis that happened in the 1980’s. The Iranian Hostage Crisis happened when the U.S decided to take one of Iran’s previous Shah and treat him for cancer. This led to many Iranian people storming the U.S embassy, and taking over 60 hostages. These hostages were held for 444 days before being released. Argo was based on a rescue mission called ‘The Canadian Caper” in which six americans escaped capture and hid in the Canadian residence. There were many discrepancies between the movie and the events, one of the most political being the undermining role of Canada and the fact that they left out many people that contributed greatly in the efforts of saving the hostages.
Since the Peace of Westphalia, the balance of power amongst civilizations is shifting. Although nation states will still be a dominant player in world politics but the main friction of global conflicts will take place among civilizations. The international system began with the Treaty of Westphalia and the conflict between monarchies in the effort to gain more armies, territory and money. Then the system began to shift towards nation states with the French Revolution. Instead of conflicts between nations, the aftermath of the Russian revolution led to the conflicts of ideologies, including communism versus fascism versus liberal democracy. Seen in the Cold War, the battle of communism versus liberal democracy was between two
