April 20th(or 4/20) is an unofficial high holiday that has been mainstream for a long time. Its vastly celebrated by many pot-smokers and a recurring topic to all when april approaches. Since the new legalization laws, festivities and rallies are becoming more common. Celebration of 4/20 has become a trending topic in states where marijuana possession is legal. Without the growers of medical and recreational marijuana this holiday would be extinct. Lately there has been a substantial lack in diversity with licensing growers with Maryland.
Marijuana, used by 80 million, used frequently by 11 million Americans, and has been debated its whole life (Norml). It goes way back to 8000 B.C. when textile industries began in Europe and Asia, for the use of hemp (Hempfest). To this date people rave on how people look at the drug. It's extraordinary that this plant can be used for recreation, medicine, industrial, and religious reasons. Some popular slang terms to describe marijuana are cannabis, weed, pot, cheeba, mary jane, and many more. The major active chemical, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), when smoked it releases THC into cannabinol receptors located in the brain, thus causing the "high" feeling (Norml). What is actually smoked is the dried and cured flower buds of the marijuana plant. Today, marijuana is grown with great science, like
On every marijuana related website I visited I found there was a glossary. All of them were very similar. Some examples of different words contained in the glossary follow. The words high, stoned, blazed, and wasted are all defined as being under the influence of marijuana. Blades, skins, papers, and blunts are all synonyms for the paper used to roll marijuana. Joints and blunts are used to described as rolled marijuana, like a cigarette. The inhalation of marijuana smoke is called taking a hit, drag, or toke. A bong or bowl is used to smoke marijuana. There are hundreds of different names for marijuana, some of the most popular are: pot, reefer, weed, bud, chronic, ganja, green, grass, mary jane, and herb. They also have some symbols that represent things. A very popular one is the marijuana leaf. It can be seen a lot of places such as a bumper sticker or in graffiti. 420 is another common one, it is the number used to represent marijuana or the smoking of it. The best explanation of this is it’s the California police code for possession of marijuana.
For families across the United States, Thanksgiving is a holiday to come together with family and loved ones to celebrate the good things life has to offer. Before analyzing my own family’s Thanksgiving festivities, I hadn’t given much thought to way we celebrate and what the underlying meanings of our actions are. While some of the traditions of the holiday say something about our society as a whole, I was also able to view the implicit meanings of my family’s specific actions. This analysis made me realize that while our society is attempting to move forward and break norms, they are still heavily present within our everyday subconscious actions and holiday traditions. Although I am grateful I was able to come to this realization, it
The novel 1984, written by George Orwell, takes place in a dystopian society where a small upper class assumes complete control over the masses by means of intimidation and propaganda. The common folk are left in a state of fear and anxiety due to this as demonstrated by the main character Winston in the novel. The 1984 simulation game at our school attempted to emulate this dystopian society through the anonymous placement of thought police amongst students. The presence of these thought police and the strict rules they enforced invoked much fear, some paranoia, and a loss of identity within me and kept me following the rules.

Cannabis, formally known as marijuana is a drug obtained from the tops, stems and leaves of the hemp plant cannabis. The drug is one of the most commonly used drugs in the world. Fake news reports have been around for as long as the newspaper itself has, and sometimes people who are innocent get painted as the monsters. The story may be twisted but sometimes they realize they truly were the villain in both fake and true realities. The Boston Massacre’s first news report was untrue, showing the soldiers to be shooting at unarmed civilians. The truth wasn't far from that though as they shot civilians who were only armed with rocks and sticks. The soldiers were the whole chain reaction because one of them should not have been swinging a sword in the first place. They didn't need to bring guns into the mix of something so simple, and they were the first to threaten.
Joseph is a redshirt senior who has appeared in 41 games for UConn, while registering 260 total tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss. Joseph is the leader of the defense and is responsible for lining of the linemen and linebackers. Joseph is active in run defense and has the ability to cover some tight ends and slower running backs. Joseph does not posses elite athleticism, which has turned into an essential trait for inside linebackers to succeed in the NFL today. Joseph plays sideline-to-sideline but does not have the speed to track down offensive players who breakthrough on the outside. Joseph will get a chance at the next level, but I believe there are stronger candidates for the 2018 Senior Bowl due to Joseph’s lack of athleticism.

This question has been asked many times with school board officials let’s look at the facts, Summer break started because the children of poor farmers would miss school in order to help their families harvest they would miss many days of school and wouldn’t be able to learn as much as the children whose families were wealthy. They eventually decided to shorten the calendar so that no one could miss school. Here in the 21’st century no one needs to miss school, nowadays a small amount of people have families that own farms but the children don’t have to miss school to work on them! Summer break is now a fun break, but do kids really need it? I believe they don't there are enough missed school days from three day weekends to spring break there really is no point to have the school calendar shortened anymore. So should we keep Summer?
I believe the United States is not handling “The Declaration Of Independence” well. The reason I believe this is because the NFL took a knee to the National Anthem. I do not agree with the NFL taking a knee to the National Anthem but the reason they did was because of racism. The NFL did not purposely try to offend people but people are taking it that way because people would say “if your gonna kneel don’t do it during the National Anthem”. The reason the NFL did it was because African Americans have not been treated well since a long time ago.
Across the nation and world assisted suicide is an issue that has been gaining attention for several years. With famous cases such as Jack Kevorkian it has become a household term and everyone has an opinion. There are strong cases on both sides, but the bottom line is while it may sound good for the present, it is not for the future. Assisted Suicide should not be legalized in Alabama as the negative outcomes far exceed the positive outcomes in the areas of impact on society, politics and medical education
