Global warming
Global warming is having a huge effect in today’s world, and for that we must do something about it. The main causes for global warming are, burning coal and other fossil. CO2(carbon dioxide) is one of the seven greenhouse gases in our atmosphere and accounts for 84 percent of greenhouse gases produced by human activity. The majority of this is from burning fossil fuels for electricity and transportation. Our Earth is suffering because of people in china producing so much pollution to the extent that it is the number one cause of death. They can’t walk outside without a mask to help them breathe the polluted air. Livestock around the earth being the drive for the continuation of deforestation to make room for more grazing land. Lastly the threat of the ocean levels rising causing the Earth to flood. For that we need to murder all people in china, kill all livestock, and ship some of the ocean out to space in order for us to survive global warming and put a stop to it. Killing the people in china will help the environment dramatically. Just air pollution over there can kill up to 4,000 people per day. Not only that, China is burning more coal, which is also not helping their environment. We do have the possibilities to try and put a stop to this nonsense but there will always be people who will disagree, or fight back. Seeing that their leader isn’t the nicest among men, trying to compromise will be difficult, so an easier route will just to kill them all by releasing the Bubonic Plague. First we will build a wall around them, and since they got the great wall of china, we already have a great start. Once we build a wall around them, they won’t be able to get out, and the plague won’t be able to get out as well. We will also take out their research centers so they will be unable to find a cure to this plague. The plague will die with them. Once they are all killed the smell of their rotting bodies will be trapped inside the walls. Than having nobody left in china means there will be less pollution and because of that, there will be a less effect on global warming. The next step in the process to stop Global Warming at its source, eradicate one half, if not more, of the total cow
As Bill Mckibben, a well-known environmentalist said, “ Global warming is not just a scientific topic-at root, beyond all the practical implications, it’s a moral questions. Do we care enough about people elsewhere in the world, especially poor people, not to fundamentally destabilize their physical lives (Mckibben, 703)? When we chose to participate in global warming we are admitting that we don’t care about our living space nor the lives of people living in third world countries. Not all people are able to buy food from supermarkets so when floods like the one in Bangladesh happen due to global warming we are not only destroying their homes but also their food supply as well. There are everyday solutions to global warming such as not littering, turning off electronics when they are not being used, and walking instead of driving when going short distances that can help keep Earth healthier and more sustainable for not only us but for future generations.
Global warming. It’s a highly controversial and well-known topic brought to the attention of many for the past few years. Global warming is an issue that is currently destroying our entire planet. But because humans are selfish, global warming is something we should avoid addressing. In fact, we should consider supporting this so-called “issue”, as its benefits for mankind outweigh the damages on the entire planet. Global warming is here to help mankind in many different ways. A non-stop beneficial lifestyle comes from the increased temperatures of the world, outrageously rising water levels and an atmosphere filled with carbon dioxide.
The Zombie theories are conspiracy theories that that have been disproven by scientists in the scientific community for many years now. Despite, social media and news stations continue to broadcast it this is how the theories live on. With the age of technology and cellphones, the news tends to feed off people’s emotions anyway they can to gain viewers and trends. As more zombie theories become developed, they more they all become proven incorrect. Dr. Marshall explained several zombie theories to ease the tension and fears, but it is proving to be challenging for some. The one theory that has stuck in my head that has been disproven is that the Earth has not become warmer since 1998 (T, 2013). I found this to be funning because of what I learned as a child in middle school and people still believe that the planet isn’t warming.
Many people do not fear the effects of climate change because global warming is a gradual and vastly impersonal thing, and it causes the people no immediate danger now to really fear per say. This appears to be true, a poll conducted by Yale University shows that 65% of people believe that global warming will harm future generations of people and a little more than half that number believe that climate change will affect them personally. The majority of issues that grasp our attention are things that involve P.A.I.N, according to Daniel Gilbert a psychologist. P.A.I.N is an acronym for threats that affect us personally, abruptly, immorally, and now. Another reason why many people don’t believe in climate change is that we have a “pool of worry”,
Climate change affects everyone. I think that the reason climate change is often ignored is because it is too often it is talk about like a possibility ,”Does it exist?” instead of it being presented as a fact. No one debates whether or not cigarette smoke is bad for a person's lungs, why do people debate whether or not the climate has changed? There is tons of scientific evidence that supports the idea.
Still to this day less than 50% of U.S. Citizens believe that climate change is caused by human wastefulness. Despite all the factual evidence that science has given through the decades showing how C02 emissions coincide with industrialization, a large amount of people still can't get it through their thick skulls that it is a problem and we are the cause. I am not sure if it is simply people's arrogance or how they were raised that causes them to disregard evidence that so blantly show that humans are destroying the earth. We need to educate people more on this topic not to save the earth but to save our future generations. There are so many technologies that are already around that can solve a majority of our current problems, plus there
Global warming according to National Geographic is “a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants.” The greenhouse effect is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth's atmosphere trap heat. These gases let in light but keep heat from escaping, like the glass walls of a greenhouse according to NASA. Human activity, such as burning fossil fuels, causes a lot of greenhouse gases to build up. As the atmosphere "thickens" with more greenhouse gases, more heat is held in. Fossil fuels are high in carbon and when they are burned they produce major amounts of carbon dioxide. A gallon of burned gasoline puts about 19 pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Is global warming leading toward the extinction of humanity? Americans spend billions of dollars on global warming every year but is it really worth it? The earth is warming up, the glaciers are melting, the sea level is rising, and it seems like natural disasters are occurring more often. Americans are looking for solutions to this problem, but it is taking a hefty chunk out of their wallets.
The global warming is a controversial and debated topic, but it is no surprise to most people. When we think about our future, we only think about our personal life effects and benefits. Global warming is also an important and troubling situation going on the planet earth. Changes in climate can be resulted from both human activities and natural. Human activities involve careless actions and burning fuels. On the other side, natural events cause climate change by volcanic eruptions. Human activities are more responsible because natural events only occur at some percentage and sometimes, but there is no time limit on human events. Today everyone’s main concern is how we can stop global warming? Global warming is a process of gradual annual temperature increase in the atmosphere by human. Global warming has impacts on climate change, raise sea level, human health. But it can be prevented by strict laws, planting trees, sharing sources, and burning less fossil fuels.
The United States of America produces the second highest rate of carbon dioxide emission per capita. We just barely trail China in this deadly race for energy that we call industrialization. “The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) warns that, given the current trends, energy-related emissions will increase by seventy percent by 2050” (Rogers). At this rate our planet is doomed to become a wasteland. Investigations have shown that inconceivable catastrophic changes will take place if the global temperature continues to rise. The polar ice caps are already melting, which can lead to rising sea levels. In addition, extreme weather such as droughts, floods, and storms will become a huge problem. The world will become
Global warming is occurring all over the world. It is causing dangerous new weather patterns, including, hurricane and tornado strength. It also impacts the ocean in a bad way quickly destroying habitats. People are the main reason that global warming is happening because of all the fossil fuels we burn daily. Overall, global warming is dangerous and is happening.
The pattern of climate change denialism and the Trump administration’s stance on climate change policy indicates a bleak outcome for climate change mitigation policy. Trump, on Twitter, has repeatedly called climate change a hoax and even said “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive” (Trump). Recently, Trump withdrew from the Paris Agreement intended to lead a worldwide effort to reduce global warming. The United States and China, the largest CO2 emitters, do not view climate change as a very serious problem compared to the global median, according to a report by the Pew Research Center. In this same report, however, it states that “even in China and the United States, where overall concern about climate
Global Warming, much of what does or does not happen forty years from now rests on our actions or inactions taken between now and then. The crucial question is whether we should pour all our resources into mitigation – reducing our carbon emissions. According to scientists who study the climate there are other environmental problems; “we now face a global crises in land use and agriculture that could undermine the health, security, and sustainability of our civilization”.
If I am truly being honest I must say that climate change has never really helped the economy. More times than not, climate change, and the terrible storms/natural disasters that it produces, harms the economy, especially when hurricanes and tornadoes hit us down here on the coast. For example, when Hurricane Harvey came through, even though it hardly touched us, we still went through the aftermath. A major gas line, that supplies most of the Bible belt (the south), was shut off for days, and gas prices shot up, and while they have gone down in towns/cities farther north in Mississippi, Hattiesburg gas prices are just starting to decline. Climate change occurs when there is too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Now when I say that climate change has cost the economy a lot of money I am in no way referring to global warming. Contrary to the belief of many, climate change and global warming are not the same. Global warming, however, has caused many of its own problems. Many scientists, who study climate change, have agreed that climate change will hit the United States hardest of all, though they are not sure how bad it will be yet. The southern part of the United States will be the ones, who suffer more than the rest, but, due to the fact that the majority of the nation’s food comes from the south, it will eventually get bad for the rest of the nation. If forced to think about the entire situation, one may notice that every summer, especially in Mississippi, is hotter
Global warming, we see it as sad polar bears hopelessly swimming for their lives in the ocean. It's shown as rising sea levels that can washout entire cities. It even sometimes gets turned into politics but scientifically, what is the definition of global warming?
