The world is constantly being shaken by extreme weather and rising temperatures on the incline. As the global temperature soars, there are droughts, forest fires, floods, and vast storms all over the world. The question arises as are these horrors a product of global warming? The source of global warming is a controversial issue. Some scientists reason that global warming is natural because the Earth has always had normal heating and cooling cycles. Other scientists believe that global warming is caused by the greenhouse effect directly attributable to humans. The greenhouse effect is the trapping of the sun's energy in a planet's lower atmosphere due to the greater transparency of the atmosphere to radiation from the sun than to infrared radiation emitted from the planet's surface. There are two main arguments which are; global warming is being triggered by man-made carbon dioxide emissions and global warming has no relationship with the amount of man-made carbon dioxide emissions released into the atmosphere. Global warming, regardless of the source, is changing our world and causing many adverse effects.
The world today is divided into two different points of view regarding global warming. Most people claim that recent human activities and the use of fossil fuel cause global warming. They have the same collective conscience which influences their belief on global warming. There is lots of evidence to support this opinion and by using inductive logic they conclude that
The Earth is our home, so why don’t we take care of it and preserve it? Most people think that they can’t make a difference as just one individual in a world of over 7 billion people, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Anything from being a vegetarian, which highly reduces the amount of water used and byproduct created when farming animals, to carpooling to school helps combat global warming. By convincing my English class that global warming is an important issue that we are facing today and will face in the future, I hope to get them to take their own initiatives to reduce their footprint on our planet Earth.
We might disagree on the causes of global warming. We cannot ignore that it is happening. We still experience cold winters, average global temperatures has risen drastically for the past three decades. Polar ice caps are melting. Sea levels are rising. Scientists predict more extreme weather in the coming decades. Drought will probably be more common. Flooding and tropical temperatures might cause large amounts of methane gases to be released. This could be disastrous for our atmosphere. Climate change may have human causes; it might be a natural occurrence. We must find ways to save our planet.
The source of global warming is a very controversial topic. Some scientists think that global warming is a natural part of the Earth’s cycle because the Earth has always had natural heating and cooling cycles. Other scientists believe that global warming is caused by humans dut to the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is the accumulation of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide released from the burning of fossil fuels. These scientists believe
The Global Warming theory has become increasingly popular over the past few years. Citizens of the world are being encouraged to be more environmentally conscious by others including politicians, celebrities, and world organizations. The problem with the theory lies in the fact that it has become more and more controversial as it gains publicity and attention. The basic concept behind this theory is that the earth was made with a balance of “greenhouse gasses”. These gasses are naturally occurring within the atmosphere and they essentially make the planet habitable by keeping it warm.
A study shows that there was a 97% consensus among scientists who were interviewed said that global warming is caused by humans in 2015. The number is always changing considering the fact that there was a 100 percent consensus by 2004, with a percentage of 91 scientists in agreement in the beginning of 2014 with a 93 percent consensus by the end of 2014. (Friends) All of these scientists believe that global warming is being caused by and can be prevented by humans. They see that sea levels are rising because of melting ice caps, the number of immense wildfires is increasing along with the length of the wildfire season, droughts are becoming more severe, storms are becoming more extreme and common, and dangerous heat waves are becoming an issue. Sea levels rising dramatically increases the risk of flooding, especially in the Gulf of Mexico and U.S. East Coast. Similarly, more rain falls during the heaviest downpours, increasing the risk of flooding events even more with the temperature increase caused by climate change. Scientists see that climate change has significant implications for our health, including increased air pollution and a longer and more intense allergy
The Zombie theories are conspiracy theories that that have been disproven by scientists in the scientific community for many years now. Despite, social media and news stations continue to broadcast it this is how the theories live on. With the age of technology and cellphones, the news tends to feed off people’s emotions anyway they can to gain viewers and trends. As more zombie theories become developed, they more they all become proven incorrect. Dr. Marshall explained several zombie theories to ease the tension and fears, but it is proving to be challenging for some. The one theory that has stuck in my head that has been disproven is that the Earth has not become warmer since 1998 (T, 2013). I found this to be funning because of what I learned as a child in middle school and people still believe that the planet isn’t warming.
Climate change affects everyone. I think that the reason climate change is often ignored is because it is too often it is talk about like a possibility ,”Does it exist?” instead of it being presented as a fact. No one debates whether or not cigarette smoke is bad for a person's lungs, why do people debate whether or not the climate has changed? There is tons of scientific evidence that supports the idea.
Over the years there has been a lot of controversy on if climate change is an issue that needs to be discussed and solved. There is a constant debate among scientist on if human actions are contributing the changing of earth’s climates. Climate change is defined as the change in average weather patterns for a specific region or Earth as a whole. This could include the change in an average temperature for a city or the amount a rainfall it receives (Dunbar, 2015). The main difference between weather and climate is the period of time specific patterns are recorded. Weather patterns are looked at over a much shorter period of time, meaning that these patterns are going to be more sporadic and change more frequently. Climate on the other had is recorded over a much longer period of time and usually show less drastic changes in patterns when compared to weather. Some people may argue that climate change is not an issue because Earth’s temperature is always changing do to natural effects. What people don’t realize is that human activity has effected the rate that earth’s temperature is changing, and just the smallest changes can lead to drastic consequences (Dunbar, 2015).
Climate change has undoubtedly become one of the most prominent debate topics in the world today. With that being said, there are multiple aspects of climate change currently being discussed; causes of climate change, the idea that climate change may be a hoax, and whether or not climate change affects human health are three of the many ongoing debates about climate change. Climate change is surrounded by negative connotations, but Jay Leno, former host of NBC’s The Tonight Show, shed some light on the darkness of climate change, saying "According to a new U.N. report, the global warming outlook is much worse than originally predicted. Which is pretty bad when they originally predicted it would destroy the planet.” Although his first statement is rather true, Leno manages to lighten its load with a less true, but hilarious, comment. His words force one to realize that climate change impacts everyone in any area of the health triangle, whether it be through a joke such as Leno’s, or directly through issues such as pollution and pollen; the areas of the health triangle include physical health, mental/emotional health, and social health. Therefore, climate change is a threat to all aspects of human health; social health, mental/emotional health, and physical health.
Global warming has been an on-going issue for many decades. Most people would argue that it is a hoax; while others argue it is true. Climate change can cause a domino effect of catastrophes throughout the world. Once it affects one group, then that affected group will affect another, and so on and so forth; like a plague. Global warming is an authentic problem and we need to find more efficient ways to eliminate it, or at least contain it.
“There’s one issue that will define the contours of this century more dramatically than any other, and that is the urgent threat of a changing climate.” - Barack Obama. Climate change has been a popular topic of discussion, because of the threat to our environment. The world will forever be changed if climate change isn’t taken into serious consideration and not in a good way. Climate change has been a popular topic of discussion, because of the threat to our environment. Climate change has had many negative effects, for example, damage to coral reefs, the increase of wildfires, and most importantly rising sea levels. The damage to our earth cannot always be undone nevertheless it can make some things disappear forever.
Global warming, we see it as sad polar bears hopelessly swimming for their lives in the ocean. It's shown as rising sea levels that can washout entire cities. It even sometimes gets turned into politics but scientifically, what is the definition of global warming?
Global warming has become a well conversed topic among scientists and peoples in the world today. There are extremists who do everything possible to stop contributing to the warming, but the average person does little to alleviate the issue and in many cases refuses to acknowledge that there is a problem at all. Dating back to millions of years ago, even before humanity was born, the world has always experienced one form or another of warming; so the warming seen today is not as bizarre as many may think. The prevalent saying that history often repeats itself, is no joke when discussing global warming. As to what is kindling the current warming, that is where a query is imposed. Scientists from around the globe have theorized close to every possible contributor to the warming seen today, and the conclusion that present occurrences of global warming are being evoked by human interference has become evident.
Although some believe that Global Warming has been created due to manmade pollutants, I believe that Global Warming is a natural process that has been accelerated due to the excess emissions of pollutants from nature and manmade devices into the atmosphere. The world has been said to be on a cycle of global warming and cooling, this process can neither be stopped nor prevented, but it can be accelerated with the addition of non-natural emissions from automobiles and factories; because this is a natural process, even if constraints were to be put on the amount of pollutants released into the air global warming could not be prevented—it could only be slowed. When the inevitable happens and global warming occurs, there are many
Global warming is the constant increase of temperature in the earth’s atmosphere that is caused by the increase of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, greenhouse gases and many other pollutants. Chlorofluorocarbons are any type of compounds of carbon, hydrogen, chlorine, and fluorine which are harmful to the ozone layer. Global warming can affect many things, one example is the rising of temperature which can result in different types of disasters like storms, heat waves, floods, and droughts. Global warming also causes Higher death rates, Dirtier air, Higher wildlife extinction rates, the increase of Acidic Oceans, and Higher seas levels. In this essay, I will provide information that will show how harmful global warming can be to not only the earth but to humans and animals, and what we can do to prevent it from increasing.
