Hook: Crucible is a book filled with mistakes and the outcomes of those mistakes. Every single action that a person commits leads to either a positive or a negative consequence, and this piece of literature provides readers with an opportunity to analyze some causes and effects.

Have you ever been judged by others before they know you? Well in the Crucible by Arthur Miller it teaches several lessons but one stands out the most. The strongest lesson is making a formated thought of an individual through another’s thought of them is insufficient. Judging others based off of a person’s statement or opinion I believe harms both sides of the parties by closing off possibilities, harming the ones that it is about, and it can be biased and incorrect. The possibilities are shut down from a opinion that was decided to soon. From that opinion being decided that quickly it can harm the person through many things. The statement made by anothers idea of a person can be biased and not true. All of these individual reasons bring you to the same idea that quickly making a decision of what you think of someone based off of someone else's idea or statement brings you to the wrong conclusion of them.

In The Crucible by Arthur Miller, Abigail and Mary Warren are introduced as two separate people. Although people might see Abigail and Mary Warren as two separate people and nothing alike, they are more alike than meet's the eye. Abigail and Mary Warren have three things in common; they are both are deceitful, they both dishonest, and they are both apprehensive.

Because of the doll that was planted by Abigail, Elizabeth was unfairly judged. Everyone has listened to “innocent” Abigail claims, while judging the rest of the people unfairly.

The Crucible was based in 1692 in and around the town of Salem, Massachusetts, USA. The Salem witch-hunt was view as one of the strangest and most horrendous chapters in the human history. People that were prosecuted were all innocent and their deaths were all due to false accusation of people’s ridiculous belief in superstition and their paranoia. The Puritans in those times were very strict in personal habits and morality; swearing, drunkenness and gambling would be punished. The people of Salem believed in the devil and thought that witchcraft should be hunted out.

All of this relates back to the theme of the, The Crucible to not believe in false accusations, because that’s exactly what happened even though the opposite should’ve happened when Tituba got accused and Abby was the guilty one. Another part of the story to show the theme is when Rebecca Nurse is being accused and even though this is so odd because everyone knows how good of a soul Rebecca is they still believe it just because someone accused her. It is explained here in the text, “You will never believe, I hope, that Rebecca trafficked with the Devil. Hale: Woman it is possible”(32). This part of the story shows the theme, because Rebecca is being falsely accused but everyone is still going along with it. Arthur Miller writes about why he wrote the crucible and says, “There was bad blood between the two women now”(3). Miller is talking about Abigail and Elizabeth in this part about how Elizabeth fired Abigail and now Abby is accusing John of witchcraft. This can explain the theme, because since those two have bad blood between them you can guess that Abby’s accusation is not the truth. This shows to not believe in false accusations, because they could be accusing someone for other reasons than just witchcraft.
