Sexual thoughts pop in and out of most people’s mind, but especially teenagers, and there’s nothing they can do about it. It is normal for teenage boys and girls to experience this, more than ever when they are hitting puberty. The hormones in the body begin to act up and teenagers want to experience other things on their own. Males begin to grow pubic and facial hairs, and their voice starts to deepen, while girls’ breasts begin to develop and their body begins to take shape. The main character of the story is Ulysses he is king of Ithaca he has a wife named Penelope and a son named Telemachus.Ulysses is known for his homecoming which took him 20 years to get home.Today I am gonna be writing about the theme of the Odyssey.The theme is loyal, I will be providing examples why the theme is loyal in the following paragraphs.

The Odyssey is an epic poem written into twenty-four chapters, traditionally said to have been written by the ancient Greek poet Homer. The poem tells the story of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, who wanders for ten years trying to get home after the Trojan War. The epic is filled with a multitude of characters, but none quite so interesting. Although some readers may say that Telemachus can be seen to be treacherous, he can truly be seen to be loyal because he embarks on the journey to find out about his father's fate despite growing up without him, he is also loyal to his family because he takes on the duty to ensure the household of Odysseus stays unscathed from the suitors, finally he is also loyal to his mother's honor by standing up to the suitors who are trying to force his mother into marriage.

There are many different themes for The Odyssey. The Odyssey is an ancient greek story about a brave man named Ulysses who goes to war but apparently has trouble making it back home. Ulysses meets Athena, a goddess, who helps him throughout his journey home. When Ulysses finally gets back home he meets his son, Telemachus, and they attack the suitors for being rude for many years.That loyalty will pay off is the most important theme in this story.

Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey takes place in and around ancient Greece near the time of the Trojan War. The protagonist is Odysseus, the guile hero and king of Ithaca. Just after his first son Telemachus was born, Odysseus is called to battle in the ten year long Trojan war. After the war, angry at his and his men’s hubris in battle, the gods made the return journey last ten harsh years. Meanwhile, growing up fatherless, Telemachus has to cautiously take charge of the hold, while staying loyal to Odysseus with their home filled with demanding suitors that woo his mother, Penelope. Although Telemachus acts with more caution and didn’t always have his father by his side, they both display loyalty and bravery as warriors in battle.

First of all, the protagonist Ulysses Everett McGill and Odysseus share traits besides being the main characters. Odysseus’s downfall is his pride in his heritage. He always names his royal father and accomplishments when asked who he is, the same way Ulysses prides himself in his hair and appearance. The suitors in the Odyssey are set up to inherit the source of Odysseus’s pride, his power (and Penelope,) and Vernon T. Waldrip inherits Ulysses’ hair product (and Penelope.) As for impiety, Odysseus had disrespected Poseidon, and Ulysses refused to believe in God, although this only became an obstacle for Odysseus. Delmar and Pete represent Odysseus’s crew, teammates with whom he journeyed, though it was later revealed that he betrayed them. Odysseus had kept from his crew that they were destined to die, according to the prophet Tiresias, and he told them this on his own behalf because they might not have continued to sail with him if they thought it would lead to all of their deaths. Ulysses also betrayed his friends on his behalf when he told Delmar and Pete that he would share a treasure with them when they reached their destination (in order to convince them to escape prison with him,) but there was no treasure and the two were left poor and still on the run. Ulysses did all of this to be with Penelope, like Odysseus. The final protagonist

The Odyssey Literary Analysis on the role of the family in the Odyssey. The love of a family creates an extensive bond of loyalty. In the Odyssey, Odysseus, the king of Ithaca who after the victory from the Trojan War, faces an obstacle (Calypso keeps him captive against his will) and throughout the poem (after being released by calypso) he faces multiple quests for the duration of his journey back home. While Odysseus is trying to get back home, his family tries to help him.

The Homeric Epic “The Odyssey” concerns the journey of a war hero, Odysseus, returning from the Trojan War. During his travels from Troy, he encounters many figures such as a Cyclops and a King. He also encounters a nymph named Calypso, who holds Odysseus captive on her island for over 10 years to use as a husband. Odysseus is a victim of Calypso because of the way she had treated him during his time on Ogygia. While some may argue otherwise he may have not been a victim to Calypso’s actions, there, one can clearly see the mental effects she has on Odysseus and how she holds him against his will.

In The Odyssey, the reader is easily able to distinguish that Odysseus is a hero in the story. He is a god-like figure. Odysseus’s wife, Penelope, is a hero and seen by many readers as such especially females. Both possess characteristics of heroes and they deserve to be considered such but that does not mean that they are the true hero of the story. Their son Telemachus is the true hero in The Odyssey. The reader should be able to identify with him the most and realize everything that has happened in his life and he deals with it with extreme heroism. He handles the situation in his life the way every human being should.

In Homer’s The Odyssey translated by Robert Fagles, Ithaca, the land that Odysseus once ruled is in turmoil as Penelope, the Queen struggles with the combating or accepting the forces that surround her. Penelope struggles with decisions and can’t commit to marrying again as she holds out false hope that her husband Odysseus will return. Telemachus, her son has not been given the proper tools by Penelope to lead the empire making it hard for him to help her rid of the suitors. Distractions around Penelope contribute to her being unaware of the pain that could be inflicted upon her family & her. Penelope is to the blame for the multitude of problems that don’t only affect those in the palace but affect all of Ithaca.

Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey focuses around Odysseus and his ten-year long journey home. His son, Telemachus, has a great significance to the tale. The first four books of the epic focus mainly on Telemachus. While some might argue that Odysseus’ son is a minor character with little importance to The Odyssey, Telemachus is vital not only because he lets readers know the goal of the epic, but also because of his growth throughout the poem is something readers can recognize and relate to, as well as the role he has in assisting his father when killing the suitors at the end.

Father and son relationships in The Odyssey are very important. This novel tells us the story of the hero Odysseus and his journey back home after the Trojan War. His complications start after the fight when he is on his way back. On his journey home, he encounters multiple challenging obstacles. However, Odysseus and the gods are determined to get him back home to his son. In The Odyssey by Homer, we see the importance of father and son relationships between Poseidon and his son Polyphemus and Odysseus and his son Telemachus and we can see which aspects of the relationship that the Greeks valued.

Homer's Odyssey is a story of the homecoming of Odysseus after the Trojan War.  Odysseus left his wife, Penelope, and their young son, Telemachos, almost twenty years before the telling of this story to fight in the Trojan War.  His absence places Penelope in a rather precarious position.  Faced with many different circumstances, both good and bad, Penelope is on her own to decide the path she wishes to take.  Depending on her decisions, the situations could either be filled with wonderful opportunities or perilous dangers. The strong character of Penelope is revealed by her decisions.

It is often assumed that failure is a deterrent to achievement. Rather, failure should be seen as a motivator for a person to keep trying until the objective or aim of a particular mission is fulfilled.
