Holden missed Allies funeral services because he was in the hospital after breaking the windows with his bare hands (The Catcher in). Allie is Holden’s guardian angel throughout the book. Holden then experiences several things while he is on his own. The novel does reflect on Salinger's life along with his personal experiences as he was growing up and does paint an image of Holden Caulfield.
