President Barack Obama is seen as one of the most controversial presidents in the recent U.S. history. This paper will examine Obama 's legacy by introducing his background prior to the white House; analyze Obama’s major accomplishments and challenges in the past 8 years. As well as examines the internal opposition force from the other branches of the government Obama faced when conducting domestic policy.
Obama was born on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to a white mother from Kansas, Stanley Ann Dunham, and a black father from Kenya, Barack Obama Sr; he was also raised by his grandparents (Organizing for Action). Obama studied at Occidental College, a liberal art school in Los Angeles for two years. He then transferred to Columbia University to finish his undergraduate degree in political science and finished his graduate degree at Harvard Law School.
