Make the world vibrant and a glowing array of colour in as many communities as possible. Assemble neighbourhoods of citizens and contribute to the prosperity and happiness of society. Rejoice in all that one has to be grateful for and step forward to create the same opportunities for others. After living in the La Boca neighbourhood for nearly sixty years of his life, artist, Benito Quinquela Martin strived to rejuvenate the youthfulness of Caminito Street in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He set out on his journey to repaint the contrasting architectural scenery in the 1950s that was constructed by immigrant dock workers in the late 1880s. The vast colour sequences were so different from the rest of Argentina that it soon became a highly popular
To change the world is an impossible goal, but to change the world around you is something anyone can do, ultimately leading to a ripple and changing the world further. Imagine you are stuck in a difficult situation where you are desperate for help. Three inspirational people went through the exact same situation. Annie Johnson from New Directions, endured a divorce and had very little money. Farah Ahmedi survived a landmine and crossed the border with one leg. Ernesto Galarza moved to a whole new country without knowing the language. Inspirational people often undergo extraordinary missions due to circumstances, events, and challenges.
The book The Prince of Los Cocuyos can relate to my transition into college. The first time Richard Blanco came to America and felt out of place. College is all about experinces and getting to know yourself and learning who you really are. It is hard leaving high school and having to transition to college. Being used to teachers reminding you about assingments to now going online and having to remind yourself. As I begin to start my college experience I thought college would be easier no one telling you what you can and cant do, but its really not easier it might honestly be harder. Having to do so many assignments all at once. I feel like college is all about self motivation and being able to push yourself to work hard. Which I actually am
It is often said that revenge is sweet, but that phrase does not hold to be extremely true throughout The Cask of Amontillado. There are various themes and lessons throughout the story, but there is one theme that seems to be shown more than others. The most prevalent theme is that jealousy can lead to vengeance, and ultimately lead to the downfall, or even death, of a person. This theme is clearly evident through the two main characters, Montresor and Fortunato. By looking closer at Montresor’s words and actions toward Fortunato, it is apparent that there is a superfluous amount of jealousy between them. This jealousy that is between them ends up playing a major part in Montresor ultimately killing Fortunato, someone who was thought to be one of his best friends. The author uses the characters and their actions to develop a solid plot line and prove the point that jealousy and revenge can destroy a person, both figuratively and literally.
• To see each day as an important stepping stone to eventually achieving my goals, and contributing to the greater good of society.
In the novella, Benito Cereno, Herman Melville demonstrates the conflicting issue of racism and how it has been a part of our society for centuries. In the novella, we go on an adventure with two captains of Spanish descent and an overpowering amount of African Americans slaves. Melville has captured the importance of the slave trade and the risks that have been taken over time by African Americans trying to earn some justice within their lives. As a reader, we are shown the heart wrenching experiences a slave trader and an African American must endure over the bloody trading seas. Melville creates a clear picture that Americans over history were not always the heroes. This novella, shows the morality of our American history and how race has created such a strong role within our culture.

In The Cask of Amontillado Montresor lived for fifty years after killing Fortunato and he narrates the events of the story coldly and that leads some to wonder whether or not Montresor has changed and if he has changed how did he change. Over the fifty years between the events of The Cask Of Amontillado and the time when Montresor narrates the story, time changed Montresor into a guilty and shamed man that may have PTSD.
In chapter one of the book The Prince of Los Cocuyos, the author, Richard Blanco, writes about his grandmother and the difficulty for her to assimilate in this new strange place full of “gringos”. The difficulty of assimilation is portrayed the most when Richard tells us readers of his grandmothers fear of even stepping into Winn-Dixie, which is of course, an all american store. She is afraid of trying something new, therefore, she keeps returning to La Sorpresita, which was a small grocery store where she has shopped ever since she moved to Miami. His grandmother receives tantalizing chicken coupons from Winn-Dixie at great deals, but his grandmother is so fixated in the thought of all American people being “gringos putos”, meaning bad people, that she throws away the coupons until one day she decides to go with Richie. Richard then goes on about the incredulous way he felt entering Winn-Dixie, and how he wishes his

Master and Slave’s role reverse in Benito Cereno. White men held inside of an inch of death or much more tortuous destinies because of dark rebelled slaves, kept alive just to guide the blacks to get their freedom. Is this idea something so incredible, not possible, and cannot be believed or imagined by a human’s brain? In Benito Cereno, Millville’s standpoint is that Cereno is victim of the same black stereotypes that tricked Delano. Delano's extreme crudity and trustfulness toward slavery greatly affected his influence on San Dominick.
During the 1920’s, many young artists, suck as Diego Rivera, David Alfonso Siqueiros, and Jose Clemente Orozco were commissioned to decorate numerous public buildings with dramatic large scale murals. These were done to try
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
I did an extensive research on experiences of the pilgrims who have visited the shrine. While exploring Camino de Santiago, I found out that many of the pilgrims write their experiences in their diaries, that they carry along with their journey, where in they talk about their experience at the Camino and very few of out of them publish their experiences into a book (there are very few published in English) . I hope to demonstrate that my research based on some of the published books.
