That First Season by John Eisenberg is a biography of Vince Lombardi. Lombardi took over as head coach of the Green Bay Packers in 1959. The Packers had not had a winning season for over ten years. That was until Lombardi came in and took over the program. He was able to take average players and make them great, but the real question was how could a new coach make these players great. The answer was in how he treated his players. “A short, square-shouldered bulldog of a man, Lombardi was an indelible character with an array of extreme qualities, an intense Italian American incapable of not leaving a string impression. He had light-olive skin, close-cropped dark hair, and a prominent triangular nose. When he smiled, gaps showed between

I was once a boy named Lombardi. Now I’m a girl named Krystal. I live in Corneria and my life to say the very least, was odd. When I was 14, I developed a strange ability; I could change from human to an animal. All I had to do was I have to say an animal’s name and I would transform. I don’t know how this happened exactly, but I definitely didn’t tell this to my parents. When I was 20, my body developed oddly and my voice started to change drastically. My mother and father noticed and took me to the examination room in the basement and found out that I am transgender. Since my mother and father worked for Corneria’s government, Corneria’s government had a very stern rule for Transgenders and that rule is if there is a transgender living in Corneria, the government would take the transgender and send them to Lylat as a prisoner. I felt devastated, but my parents had to safeguard me and had to change my name secretly. I had to attend college in September but since I was transgender I didn’t have to go to school for months. Before I was examined, my parents told the government that they were taking a vacation for 2 months in Cerinia and were going to come back to work. However, it’s been more than 2 months and the government is becoming awfully curious as to what’s going on. The government sent many letters to our house as to where we are, We didn’t respond to any of the letters. While I looked out of the window, I saw the army approaching our house with hammers. I

After listening to Mr. Cioccetti today, I came away with a new perspective on not only ethics but life as well. Mr. Cioccetti, started the day with a story which really focused around his time right out of college. My big takeaway from this story was to enjoy what you are doing in your job as opposed to just following the money. Right out of college, he received an offer of $120,000 to work at a law firm and like many other students would do, he took it. However, he described that he and everyone else would quite the law firm the very next day due to long hours away from his family. For example, he said he did not go home for an entire week and just stayed at the office. It was just not him that did that, it was close to the entire firm. When he told a partner that he quite, he said nobody quiets due to two reasons. The first was that they were too prideful and the second was that they spent too much money so they needed the job to sustain their spending habits. This screamed to me that it is critical to live within my own means when I first start out. He said that this will allow flexibility, so that we can avoid being stuck in a job like the one he had at the law firm.
