The 9/11 Memorial is one of the biggest man-made waterfalls in North America. The 9/11 looks like a square pool with another pool but smaller with water running down the walls, to make it a waterfall. There are two pools that look identical that are in the same spot where the towers were. The twin towers, and the memorial are in New York City. The walls of the pools are made out of black granite. Each pool is about an acre in size and holds up to 480,000 of recycled water. 9/11 Memorial is not only a beautiful pool itself but is also surrounded by trees.

One of them is the Washington Monument standing at a height of 555 feet, 5-1/8 inches tall. It was the tallest structure in the world at the time it was finished. It remains the tallest structure made of masonry still today. It is one of the most used symbols of Washington today (Moeller 1 Pg. 90).

is the National Mall. The National Mall consists of the Capitol Building, the Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial. First, we will talk about the Washington Monument. The Washington Monument is a stone obelisk over 500 feet tall and is the centerpiece of the National Mall. The monument is also made out of 40,000 marble and granite blocks and is the tallest freestanding structure in the world. You might ask yourself; What is holding this structure together? The answer is the monuments weight. After six years of construction on the monument, the project ran out of money because of the young nation going to civil war. The monument was only 150 feet in the air at this point. Twenty-four years later, 1878, construction once again began on the Washington Monument. Thomas Lincoln Casey was the head engineer on the construction, but was faced with a problem right away because the original blocks were not available anymore. That is why the bottom portion of the structure is a different shade than the top portion. Casey had another problem; Congress could not reach a decision on how the Monument should be

And of course...the Famous St. Louis Arch. The Gateway Arch is a 630-foot monument in St. Louis. Built as a monument to the westward expansion of the United States, it is the centerpiece of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial and has become an internationally famous symbol of St. Louis.
What attitudes define the narrator throughout much of the story? What is his attitude toward his wife, toward Robert, toward his own experience and the experience of others? The short story “Cathedral” written by Raymond Carver is about a blind widower, his good friend and old employee, and the good friend’s husband. The narrator of the story is the husband of the widower’s friend and the thoughts and feelings from him portray a man who is fearful of the unknown.
