KIPP Atlanta Collegiate should sell candy and sugary soft drinks. The reason is because It could raise money to help get things fixed around the building students will be satisfied. It would increase the amount of students that will buy candy and sugary soft drinks. Although selling candy and sugary soft drinks may be unhealthy, It could also brighten up student’s day. It could also increase how much money the students are giving for the candy and sugary soft drinks.

Also the school board can make sure that the student is buying the items for themselves and not nobody else. The school can also make sure that the student is buying a serving size for themselves. students will have the advantage of having whatever they like.
Candy and sugary soft drinks sold in schools can be less money spent for parents. It reduces not having money for parents. In addition, it reduces arguments from happening between kids and parents because the kid will get mad if the parent says no they can not have any candy or soft drink. Then, the parent will get mad at the kid because he/she wants the candy. However, It prevents the parent from doing something important with their money. Also It will keep the parent from spending all their money instead of letting the kid pay out of their pocket.
I also say no because at sometimes kids need nutrition in their body. They need nutrition because a lot of candy and sugary soft drinks can harm their body in many different ways. In addition, high blood pressure goes up from eating too much candy and drinking too much soft drinks. It could also cause the kid to get diabetes from the candy and sugary soft drinks. Kids should consider eating more healthier sometimes instead of eating junk food all the time. They should also choose to drink healthier drinks as
Some people think that schools should offer only nutritious drinks such as white milk, water, and natural fruit juice and situationally, I agree with this policy. I believe only offering healthy drinks will be a great impact on our schools today. For instance, caffeine drinks can cause children in today's schools to become obese, which will cause children to live an unhealthy lifestyle when they grow older. Caffeine drinks can cause insomnia in children. Insomnia is a sleep disorder, for example, it will not allow children to sleep properly. Caffeine drinks will not give children's bones the nutrition that they need. However, serving nutritious drinks in our school cafeteria can be the solution to all of these brutal conflicts.
I am sure we have all seen or heard about taffy. What I would think would come to mind to most people when I would say something regarding taffy might be something concerning saltwater taffy. I love saltwater taffy. It seems that it is not in great supply around here. The only place I know of is somewhere like the cracker barrel. Needless to say I never go to cracker barrel, and it is a little more than I feel comfortable spending on candy. So I find myself resorting to a childhood favorite, laffy taffy. It is sold everywhere, and it is very inexpensive. I really started to like it when I played baseball as a kid. After the game I would always try to pump mom or dad for a few cents to stock up. It never made it home. I would somehow eat my entire entire stockpile. Whoever came up with the idea of putting jokes inside the wrapper is a very rich man. I could not help but to try to unwrap one more. The way the jokes where printed on the wrapper was very smart too. They would put one joke half way on the wrapper so it made me want to know the end of the joke, genius really.
health. Schools still sell big brandname junk food and sweet sports drinks. Even if these snacks
If schools raise money by selling these products they are largely responsible for the future generation of obesity. Obesity is one of the key factors in many health related diseases, for example diabetes, heart disease and cancers. These illness will lead to death if left untreated and cost the nation millions of dollars a year in treatment.
Attempting to urge student involvement and the rising costs of providing meals is a constant issue with the companies which provides meals for the schools. In the meantime, the issue remains how to increase the nutritional values of the food provided and assisting the companies that provide the food to do so and to maintain a stable program and its honesty, especially in making sure that children who are not eligible do not receive these reduced cost or free meals (Ralston, Newman, Clauson, Guthrie, & Buzby, 2008, p. iii).
Junk food is becoming a problem in many countries in the world, specifically one of them being the United States, in which the health of children doesn’t exactly seem like top priority. While it is true that banning junk food in schools limits the children’s choices in what they buy, this decision can remove a substantial factor to childhood obesity, provide a healthier lifestyle, and reduces the spending of the student. If these snacks are removed from schools and/or banned, it would decrease school spending, lessen the calories the children would intake, and make it easier for children to lead robust lives without snacks. Not only could there be a more efficient way to make money through the use of healthier, alternative options, but
According to (Illinois Alliance to Prevent Obesity) (2015) sugary drinks are the 1st source of added sugar (51%) in the American selection of food. Some parents have verbalized if their kid wants to eat candy all day that’s what would be provided for them to eat as well as cookies and donuts (Danford, Schultz, Rosenblum, Miller, &Lumeng, 2015). This is the behavior of parents who really do not believe these behaviors cause obesity. According to article (Lucan ,2016) a doctor in New York was appalled to discover that sugary snacks were being provided at the school that consisted of different kinds of chips, cakes and drinks. She also discovered that candy was used as incentives or rewards in class projects. Social media such as Twitter usage is a promising social media outlet for sharing and blogging of health information by health providers considering that celebrities are influential in utilizing Twitter with the hashtag childhood obesity user who use Twitter can share information on childhood obesity (Harris et al., 2014).
The government has taken initiative to cut down the amount of soda that Americans are allowed do consume. They say that America will be less fat if we don't drink it. If America and want to loose weight the have to be wiling to want to work at loosing the weight.
Furthermore,if we would also enhance our snacks bars with healthier snack options. Practically we give kids accessible ways to obtain junk food especially in schools. When it should be the total opposite,if we continue to let this happen potentially it become an ever burdensome habit to break. For this purpose, we should encourage kids and adolescents with healthier snacks instead of chips,cookies,brownies,pop-tarts,sugary sweets and etc. Instead of offering those types of snacks we should offer fruits, vegetables, almonds, peanuts, cashews, pistachios, trail mixes, yogurt, smoothies, healthy drinks and
Nickelson discusses how discouraging sugar-sweetened drinks consumption can make an impact on childhood obesity. This heavily effects preschool age children and the proportion of children consuming sugar-sweetened beverages increases over time. Soda being the most studied is associated with taste preference, habit intentions, television viewing, soda availability at home and school and parental willingness to purchases sodas for children. Other influencers such as child care could reflect on the child’s intake of the sugary drinks. In the article Should Candy and Soda be Banned from Schools the writer of this article shows the both sides of whether candy and soda should be banned from schools or not.I agree with the writer that candy and soda should be banned from schools because it is our first step in stopping obesity in our nation. The reason in why I agree with the writer is because that our generation is known to be overweight or even obese, but if we can switch out the unhealthy food and bring in healthier food we can stop obesity before it even happens.
Sugar; viewed as tasty, satisfying and irresistible treats to distract you from the toxic, addicting and deadly attributes it holds against you. It is so abundant in our everyday life. Our government must start a change. Taxing sugary products will reduce the physical effects of obesity, dental health and countless diseases caused from the simple ingredient of sugar. The potential impact of money gained from the tax is promising and will benefit a broad range of ages. Addiction is formed and sugar can become as deadly as drugs causing a vicious cycle of cravings. However, targeting one product will not change people's outlook, we need education, not tax gain alone to change their lifestyle.
Valencia High School can encourage healthy eating by banning junk food from the student store and vending machines across campus. The junk food offered on campus serves as a temptation for many students with, “candy, cookies, sports drinks and sodas [being] food staples [that] students expect to find available at their schools” (Kisch). If it is not offered, people will not feel the need to buy it. When this junk food is replaced
Sugar is in so many things that you can barely count. It is even in healthy things such as fruit like apples and bananas, but it is a different kind of sugar. The sugar that is highly addictive, unhealthy, and overall delicious, is the type that is in sweet things like candy, ice cream, so it is in different types of desserts in general. (zelf geschreven)
