This past March, the Holy Angels auditorium transformed into a home, an airport, a hospital, and more, all in one sensational show! Catch Me If You Can is a story about a precocious teenager named Frank Abagnale (played by UCHS senior, Christian Rivera) who runs away from home after hearing the news of his parent’s divorce. Impressed by their chic uniforms, Frank first takes on the identity of a pilot and succeeds in visiting dozens of different countries and flying millions of miles. He relies on fake checks, as well as scamming tips taught by his father, to steal millions of dollars. Tired of all of his adventures, Frank settles down in America, pretends to be a doctor, and also ends up falling in love with a diligent, beautiful nurse named Brenda (played by Rianna LeHane ’18). After weeks of preparation, the cafeteria and lobby by the auditorium were transformed into a detailed airport scene, successfully setting the mood for the show. The actors and actresses managed to switch into numerous different costumes throughout the course of the show, sing every key flawlessly, and put on a great show. The spring musical was also the last AHA show that the seniors were be able to participate in, making the Sunday show a special one. “It's very bittersweet saying goodbye to this family that I've been a part of for the past four years,” said Jessica Boccassini ’18, who is a member of the ensemble and also the Dance Captain/Student Choreographer. “On one hand, it's difficult to imagine my life without seeing everyone at rehearsal everyday. On the other hand, I'm so proud of how much everyone has grown and developed their skills over these past few years and I'm excited to see what new and exciting performance opportunities my future
The movie Catch Me If You Can is a true story brought to the big screen in 2002, it follows the story of Frank Abagnale Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio) and the man who is trying to find him Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks). Foremost I believe what Frank did was wrong by lying to people about who he was and what he supposedly did in the past. Second, he emotionally abused people that he knew, in particular Brenda Strong, Carl Hanratty. Most importantly, he stole money from the bank by cashing in fake cheques.
