That including: her mother undergoing domestic violence from her alcoholic father and then eventually leading to the death of her mother. This had all went down when she was merely a child. In the story, True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, the author Avi created an external conflict. A major conflict that was developed in the story was Charlotte not knowing who to trust. A possible theme in the book, True Confessions of Charlotte doyle, is that you can’t trust everyone and every little thing someone said. According to the text on page sixteen Mr. Keetch said, “But it’s my strong opinion, miss, that you should take another ship for your passage to America.” Mr. Keetch warned Charlotte to take another ship because she was the only girl on the ship. Also as stated in the beginning of the story Charlotte was convicted of murder, and the men on the ship were really rude to her. Charlotte didn’t know if she could trust them or not.

Paul’s time with Elizabeth and Rick is much different than the time he has with Flan and Ouisa. What happens between Elizabeth and Rick is far more different than what happens between Flan and Ouisa. Paul uses “John Flanders Kittredge” as his dad instead of using Poiter (84). Paul does this in order to avoid benefiting the poor. Adding on to that, it would have been reasonable if Paul said that his father is Poiter because it would get Elizabeth and Rick’s attention since they want to become an actor. They would have also asked Paul to give them tips and tricks as what it is being an actor. He obviously does this to the Kittredges and the reason why he does not say Poiter is his Father is not because Elizabeth and Rick would have suspected
Prompt 3: Similarities: Something both Ed and Judy Boone share is their genuine love for Christopher despite their difficulty in fully understanding Christopher. I know this because in the text when Christopher blatantly disobeys his father Ed and they get into a fight, Ed later then apologizes and takes Christopher to the zoo and says "Christopher, do you understand that I love you?" on page 66. Which explains itself; he loves Christopher regardless. As for Christopher's mother, Judy Boone, she also loves Christopher dearly. In the text when Christopher just shows up out of the blue and right into her life, she puts her life on hold just to take care of him thus losing her job and leaving Mr.Shears. When Mr.Shears says Christopher can only
According to “Alison Doyle” Saying friendly hello or simply greeting people can make your store difference. Dealing with your customers with good attitude can possibly make them feel and found that just smiling, like saying they can solve their problems in everyday their living.
In Katherine Anne Porter's short story "He," she presents several themes that she develops primarily through the actions of the main characters, particulary Mrs. Whipple. Porter portrays a poor, lower class Southern family and the difficulties they encounter. More importantly, she centers the story around the feelings of shame, pride, and an exaggerated concern for appearances through Mrs. Whipple's's relationship with her mentally retarded son and her behavior toward Him. Other characters, such as her husband Mr. Whipple and their two "able-bodied" children Adna and Emly serve to expand the story's themes and highlight the extremity of Mrs. Whipple's actions.

Sherlock Holmes is a cunning modern day version of her grandfather. She holds the brain of a moriarty in the body of a Holmes. Though many may argue that she has no other redeeming qualities than just her high intelligence, I refute that statement. Charlotte Holmes is a true friend to those close to her and would do anything for them. She is there in times of need and can be counted on. Charlotte Holmes is also a great role model for young girls. She is independent and takes charge as a courageous young woman. Though many like to focus on the few negative traits of Charlotte Holmes, the believe the positive traits outweigh them all.
The development of Edmond Dantés is intriguing as he journeys throughout the world, exacting revenge on his enemies and becoming crafty and supercilious. At nineteen years old, he is put into jail because he loves the same woman as another man. When Dantés escapes fourteen years later under a new name, the Count of Monte Cristo, his road converges with the son of the woman he loves, Andrew. The count travels with him and his friend Franz, through Rome. He does not tell them who he is and their only thoughts of him are that he is a rich and cunning count, but there is more to him than that. Dantés is imprisoned because of love and one could argue that unobtainable love brings out the worst in ourselves, the identity of his enemies “sets him
Arthur Conan Doyle, portrays Sherlock to be that of an intellectual and ingenious detective. Sherlock presents those traits in copious ways while solving his endless amounts of crimes. However, the main quality Sherlock repetitively uses to help solve his mysterious, is his manipulative personality. Sherlock Holmes uses manipulation to influence his accomplices or in most cases his sidekick Watson, to intimidate or trick his suspects into confession, and to remain control of his situations or further plans. In both (Doyle, Arthur Conan. The Adventure of the Dying Detective. US: Collier’s Magazine (1913), and (Doyle, Arthur Conan. The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle. UK: The Strand Magazine (1892), the use of Sherlock’s manipulative
