As a Vice President in this club I felt strongly about including opinions from various different types of students. I believe that a full representation of the student body includes not just one perspective, but various. Also, I was very active in getting the resources for my class, so we had the funds to complete activities that were very important to us. I did so by organizing many fundraisers throughout the year. One in particular was Chipotle Night. Which is in collaboration with the restaurant chain. A night is promoted where students go purchase food there and a percentage of the sales comes back to the fundraiser.
I had wanted to lead Alameda High School’s Ski Club as soon as I became a member in freshmen year. I experienced my first high school ski trip then. During this trip, I met new students from all grade levels and formed close bonds with them. While I had an amazing time skiing with peers at the same advanced level as myself, I noticed that the club seem to cater to a certain group of people. Something just didn’t feel quite right.
During 8th grade at Howard D. McMillan Middle, I believed one person could make a difference if they just set their mind to do so. Our school had many restrictions and few student activities. Early that year I became interested in Student Government (S.G.) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), so I decided to run for President of both clubs hoping to make a change.
As Senior Class Vice President, I serve the senior class by planning homecoming activities and using social media to keep our class
I am involved in two clubs at Hopkins High School. I am proud to say that I'm part of the We Serve HHS and HHS Responds clubs. We Serve HHS focuses on serving the community through volunteer. We organized the food drive that recently occurred in October to donate to ICA. Currently, we are looking into collaborating with Mr. Allan Law to provide food for homeless people in the Minneapolis area. HHS Responds is a representation of the diversity in our school. It encourages and promotes diversity in Hopkins. That club brought the gender neutral bathrooms into our school and we are currently working on celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. We have discussions regarding politics, race, religion, gender, and many other current topics that affect students
If you are not aware of the recent food poisoning incident with Chipotle, then clearly you have been taking some time off from the internet. An outbreak occurred from Chipotle in which more than 40 people became ill with E. coli. Chipotle has been in hot water since this, and it makes us realize that not all food is safe. With this in mind, the idea of other dangerous foods, outside of Chipotle, should be addressed.
In 1993, the first Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant (pronounced chi-POAT-lay) in Denver, Colorado was opened by CEO and founder, Steve Ellis after he received $165,000 in investments from a bank loan and his father (Pederson). Ellis, a Culinary Institute of America grad and former chef, started the company’s first restaurant to raise money needed to one day operate his own full-service restaurant (Berta). The company’s menu includes burritos, tacos, salads and burrito bowls (burritos without the tortilla) made with customers’ choices of pork, shredded beef, chicken, steak, beans, veggies, and burrito condiments (sour cream, salsa, etc.) (annual report). When Chipotle was first established, Ellis did not like the restaurant’s closed
My high school years have been filled with many great memories; it is safe to say that I had an enjoyable high school experience. Some of my most unforgettable moments of my high school career have been in Beta Club. In 9th grade, I joined the Beta Club at my school. I joined because I knew that this club was an organization for those who love to serve others, and I know that decision will have a lasting impact on my life as well as on others’ lives. I was elected President of the Beta Club at my school in 11th grade. I led my club of about 40 members throughout the year as we took part in various service activities such as: trash pickup for Adopt a Highway, sponsoring a child for the holidays, and visiting local elementary schools to read

A club that I have enjoyed being in since fifth grade is Beta Club. Currently I am the Historian in my high school Beta Club. Some people may believe Beta Club only focuses on academics, but it does so much more. Even though academics is a big part of the club, we also focus on leadership, achievement, character, and service. Our club traveled to the national convention to compete about a year ago. A competition I entered was called the “Meeting of the Minds”, and I was on a team with three other people. We went in not expecting to win anything, because our school does not seem to place much at state conventions, but we tried our best. To our surprise we placed first in the competition. It was so exciting when we realized we won first.
Since its IPO nine years ago, Chipotle has grown its enterprise to over 1700 restaurants, 45,000 employees and an annual revenue of $4 billion which has enabled it to capture over 10% market share (Brennan, 2014) in the Mexican food category.
Three years ago Chipotle became my favorite Mexican grill restaurant. My best friend introduced me to this restaurant and I found out all of their food was safe and healthy. When I first started going to Chipotle, I went almost twice a week. After getting used to it, I stopped going so often because I was either too busy or the long lines made me choose other restaurants. If Chipotle had a pre ordering service, this would be so convenient for their customers and cause a boost in their revenue per year. Of course it would take time and money but it will all be worth it benefiting the customers and themselves. Features they would have to offer from the pre-ordering service would be delivery, pick-up, ordering online, ordering on an app, and also ordering by phone. These five features would benefit Chipotle by knocking all Mexican grill restaurants out of their league and ending competition as a factor.
One solution for the problem is to have an entry fee for every student that wants to be a part of the club. These fees will only be a couple of dollars at the beginning of each quarter. The money that you pay will be used for many things. One thing that they can be used for is to buy supplies. Those supplies can be anything
Chipotle is facing numerous challenges due to the fact that E. coli outbreak which requires the corporation from the key stakeholders to keep it under control and apply the new food safety protocols which can aid to bring the regular customers back. Although the main cause remains a mystery, Chipotle’s E. coli outbreak has been authoritatively declared officially over by the experts. However, since the poisoning outbreak, the impact of the reduced number of customers affects the profit which the company used to enjoy before such eventuality (Scholes 27).
It all started one happy night when my family and I went to Chipotle for dinner. My sister and I had our regular burrito while our parents took a bowl of veggies. The burrito tasted a little weird and possibly expired. “Dad, my burrito tastes a little weird,” I said. He said leave it but I said I was fine. “Arushi (my sister), doesn’t your burrito taste weird,” I said. She said her burrito was fine.
