Kenneth, when I chose to be blind in this practice session, I did not brush my teeth. I cannot imagine how hard that would have been. You are right when you stated that being organized would have helped you. I find myself being a very organized person; however, in this practice I am not organized enough. When you mentioned that you sat outside listening the sounds passing through, If I were blind, I could see myself being more appreciative of nature’s sounds and the way everything would feel.
299). This shows that the narrator doesn’t know too much about the blind and is very stereotypical of them. The blind man and the narrator soon get together in which the narrator is asked to draw a cathedral with his eyes shut. Not only does he close his eyes, he keeps them closed after finishing the drawing. “My eyes were still closed. I was in my house. I knew that. But I didn’t feel like I was inside anything” (Anthology pg.311). This line said by narrator makes the reader believe that he may take things for granted and may just go about his day without noticing much.
Regardless of your political stance, dental care is a service that all people should have access to, privately, or publicly. In the United States alone, millions of Native Americans on reservations are stifled from receiving the much needed dental care they require, the consequences are harmful to their health and prosperity.

The teeth are one of the most important feature of our body. We use teeth to grind and chew food every day. Teeth make us look fabulous when we smile at the camera. Could you imagine if people have lost there teeth, how are they going to look and how can they chew food? This was the reason I went to dental assisting school and become a registered dental assistant.
It doesn’t matter if someone is blind or deaf for one to see what is all around they have to use other senses no one knows exist until the time is needed for one rely on it. One learns to rely on other senses to survive once one sense fails. However, teaching someone who can see and hear how to use their other senses can be complicated if they are not receptive to the teacher, or in other cases teach a person to see beyond their normal sight to open up their senses.
What do different types of liquids do to our teeth? We decided to do an experiment to find out which liquid would stain your teeth the most. We started by thinking about what liquids to use. We both came up with Gatorade, red wine, and cranberry juice to use for our experiment.
Malocclusion, Crooked, Decomposing, Misaligned, Constriction, these are a few words used by several dentists around the globe when examining patients for the first time in their lives. Humanity has been around for thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of years, each person starting life off the same and in the purest of forms, untainted by the hatred, greed, and selfishness found in today’s current society across the globe. Generation after generation is born, society as a whole has evolved to become more efficient and fast paced. Yet, few stop, reflect, and are left to reminisce, wondering if the right thing is being done, questioning if the efficiencies life has graciously brought among each individual are causing more harm than good in
For me it was only because I was over heated, but I could only imagine what it would be like to suddenly go blind and not no how it happened or how to fix it. I definitely think it would be helpful to have someone like the doctor's wife to guide you and help you with the everyday things you would need help with. Why the doctor's wife never goes blind we don't know. I just don't understand how just about the whole world goes blind but she somehow doesn't. She must be immune to getting it or just be lucky because she was in the asylum with all these blind people when there could have been other people in the world isolated in their home who did get
“It would have been difficult to find a happier child than I was has I lay in my crib at the close of that eventful day and lived over the joys it had brought me, and for the first time longed for a knew day to come” Most would not be able to live there life without seeing. Well, Helen could not see, and could not hear. Yet, she still managed to be an author, a political activist, and was the very first deaf blind person achieve a bachelor degree of arts. Many would struggle with doing one of those things. Not to mention all 3. She also did without being able to see or hear. Further proving her courageous, and will to succeed. As well as changing the country in showing even with major setbacks, you will accomplish anything you want. Helen Keller was great proof of courage, and helping others with the same setbacks you have. Maybe deafness and blindness were blessings. They gave her to ability to show anyone, (even with setbacks) you can do anything if you really
Although Traveling Blind: Life Lessons from Unlikely Teachers is a wonderful memoir for anyone wishing to know more about visual impairment, Fogg and her students stories transcend far beyond providing mere information. Utterly honest, and at times extremely humorous, Fogg transcribes the successes and challenges of being a mobility and orientation coach. Although the memoir was initially written as means of reflecting upon her career, “writing about the most interesting and challenging of my blind students” (Fogg, 69) Fogg all but forfeited her writing after Shaynna was suspended from the California School of the Blind. It was not until Mike (a brilliant young man) entered Fogg’s life that she resumed writing, realizing her book was not about what she taught, but about how her students impacted her own life as “adventure lady.” While the memoir allows the reader a greater understanding into the complex world of visual impairment, Fogg’s stories look beyond the “disability” and instead serves to illuminate the humanness behind each one of her
Some of them knew I couldn’t see very well, or at least I imagined they knew, for while I paraded around without asking for help, I was halting and clumsy. That will make their life convenience. And they can go everywhere if they want.
On the 24th day of July I proceeded to walk around my split level home with restricted vision. My intended purpose was to carry out a few of my daily tasks as one in later adulthood with visual limitations for experience purposes. To begin, I started by taking small steps to maneuver my way towards the bathroom with my hands stretched out touching everything before me to ensure my safety and to avoid colliding with my furniture. As I eventually made my way to the bathroom, because it was a familiar territory it was easy to find. Difficulty came when attempting to find my toothbrush. Fiddling around in the drawer I found it amongst others only because it was incased. Next it was the toothpaste, this took a little doing as I had to feel the length,
