Censorship
The word censor comes from the Latin term censere which means to appraise, value, judge ("Online Etymology Dictionary”). According to Wikipedia and Dictionary.com censorship is defined as a practice of filtering the media and suppressing the unwanted parts.
Censorship has a lot of controversy surrounding it. Some say that censoring harmful material from the public or specific groups can be beneficial for the society. For example internet censorship can protect children from violent, graphic and explicit content. Or stopping (or at least slowing down) the spread of ideas and information, that could cause public unrest, for example extremism. This leads to view of censorship “as a task in the best interest of the public” this notion
