Living in an anarchical world has many implications. From Milner’s essay (1991), anarchy is said to imply three things. Also there is never an excuse for anarchy in a civilized democracy. Socrates says to Crito, “But he who has experience of the manner in which we order justice and administer the state, and still remains, has entered into an implied contract that he will do as we command him.” Socrates is saying that if you choose to stay in a state, you are agreeing to follow its laws. Voluntarily staying in that state is implying you will abide by that states laws and follow its commands. You have the option to leave that state if you do not agree with its laws. The state cannot hold you there by force, and since you are there by choice you are also agreeing to abide by its laws. He is not saying that we should obey all of the laws of any state no matter what, he gives some very specific conditions that must be met. The exception lies in if you prove the commands or laws of the state to be unjust or are not being fairly enforced. You have the choice to obey the laws or convince them of why the law is wrong, and if they are not then you must follow through. Oligarchy is a small group of people having control of a country or institution. The society today is becoming more like oligarchy. In, past years we have seen many groups that want to take over the world and rule it based on their religion or beliefs.

Philosophers have struggled with determining the proper role of government.
