“And we are back! Bottom of the seventh out here in Chesterfield. The score is 7-6, Crushers are winning and the Stix are at their last at bat. It’s about as hot as a chili pepper in August.
First pitch of the bottom of the seventh and it’s a strike from Hardester, 0-1. Next pitch is taken to left field and it is caught by Molitor.
One out with Blanton up to bat and she takes it upon herself as she jumps on the first pitch like a mountain lion with a base hit in right center. She makes it to first with Daniel up to bat. Hardester knows she needs to jump on this batter and she does, 0-1.
Now 0-2 with a foul ball that the Stix Coach had to dodge. Hardester trying to get Daniel with a changeup but Daniel holds, 1-2. Curveball that Daniel takes

Two outs, full count, Crushers still up 7-6, bottom of the 7th with the Stix as the home team and a runner on first. Hardester throws one more a little outside and McCoy fouls it off. Next pitch right down the pipe and she hits a hard ground ball up the middle… and… KAMRYN LOHDEN DIVES FOR IT.”
As I dive, I feel the loosen dirt go all over me and into my mouth. I can’t even feel my body slam onto the ground. I can’t feel anything. There is so much pressure on me right now. I just want the ball to be in my glove. Please be in my glove. “She snags it with a perfectly smooth dive! Blanton is running and Lohden has the ball in her glove. Lohden forcefully tagged second base. Blanton doesn’t slow down and slides. Lohden was still near the base, and was not expecting Blanton to keep coming. But, the Crushers win the game with an amazing… uh… oh my, she has just been cleated in the face. That is metal spikes. All I can hear is her screams. This is bad. Oh my goodness, that has got to hurt. I am going to go help so I will let you guys know what's going on with Kamryn as soon as possible. That’s definitely going to leave a scar though.” As soon as the Stix coach made it to Kamryn, he screamed, “CALL 911
Clouds mugged the sun of light as the day progressed. Dusk filled the air on the baseball diamond where I would leave my legacy. Forth, was the championship game to be played, and the pressure of the starting pitcher, was not fazing me. In the zone, we said the Little League pledge. Jolts of excitement filled my muscles as I recited the piece that I know all too well. Warming up, I was controlled, and was ready to bring it. The game began with a bang. Strikeout after strikeout I fired, giving my all every single pitch. ‘BOOM’ went the glove after every pitch, whizzed right by the petrified batter. However, this was not much different for our team. Just two hits filled the board, I and my teammate Ian Keth. Scoring off of this was efficient,
“I knew he had to throw me a good pitch with a 3-1 count.” Ashline said, “I got my pitch and wanted to put it in play, because I knew he could score if it reached the outfield.
After Centenary tied game two at three, Dallas took advantage of a dropped popped up bunt. With one out and two on base, Jade Miller doubled to score the go-ahead run and put a pair in scoring position. Allie Driskill added an infield single that cleared the bases.
The Mountaineers had an opportunity to close on the 2-0 deficit in the fourth but John Murphy came on in relief and struck out the side to get out of the bases loaded jam.
Kowar worked quickly in the top of the fourth, getting a fly out and a line out before Jackson Lueck singled to left — the Noles’ third two-out hit of the night. What happened next is a pitcher’s
1912--The New York Giants and Boston Red sox were tied in the 8th game of the World Series. Both teams won 3 games and this game would decide who would win the ninth World Series.Tied in the 10th inning, Fred Merkle, who had blown a pennant for the Giants four years earlier, got his revenge by hitting a single in a go-ahead run. It was 2-1 for in favor of the Giants going into the bottom of the 10th. Clyde Wood, the first batter to the plate, hit an easy fly ball into right field. However, Fred Snodgrass, the right fielder, missed it, and Wood ended up on second base with nobody out. Snodgrass made a great catch on the next batter, but Wood advanced to third base. Next, Steve Yerkes walked and put players on 1st and third. Tris Speaker lined a base hit to tie the game. Yerkes advanced to third and Speaker was on 1st with only one out. The 17,000 fans erupted with glee.
Freshman Cody Crowder’s single put runners on the corners, and an error on a sacrifice bunt scored Zapata. Trinity then threw an error trying to turn a double play to allow another runner to score, and Guin’s two-out single put 11-0.
Adam Morgan came on in the 6th in relief of Eickhoff and cruised through the inning. However, the 7th inning was a different story. The Braves loaded the bases with no outs and then pushed a run across on an Inciarte one-out single. Joely Rodriguez then relieved Morgan and, after getting an out, gave up a two-run double to Markakis down the third base line that barely tipped the outreached glove of Maikel Franco. Rodriguez then walked Matt Adams to make the score 8-0 Atlanta. All three runs were charged to Morgan.
Sealing the deal, Colby finished the game off with four runs in the fifth inning, due to an error and a past ball.
With two down, an error and singles by Gillet, Smith and Ford scored the first run of the game in the top of the first. Texas Lutheran scored a pair in the bottom of the frame, but the Ladies answered right back in the second. Freshman Kylie Bradley singled to leadoff the inning and advanced to second on a bunt. Sexton and Moran followed with singles to tie the game.
PAR1 was playing in a local softball tournament. He stepped up to bat and hit a single. As the next batter came up PAR1 took a generous lead off first base. The batter then hit the ball into the outfield and PAR1 took off like a rocket. PAR1 was nearing second base when the ball was overthrow allowing PAR1 to proceed to third. Just as PAR1 was halfway between third and second base the catcher picked up the ball and throw it to the third baseman. Instantly PAR1 made a b-line for the second base, and found himself in a pickle situation. While the third baseman threw to the second baseman PAR1 revered his direction and went back for his attempt at third. At the same time the second baseman threw to third baseman, just a little high making the
George had pitched a no-hitter for a couple innings. He was getting very tired. The coach called out another pitcher who wasn’t as good as George, but was still super good. The first pitch, the other team got a hit. Luckily, they got the ball to first before they could get to first base. The Orioles won the game but not by much.
Josh Donaldson grounded (more like blooped) a fielder’s choice to second base when Odor misplayed the ball, allowing Pillar to score and tying the game.
Within the pitcher’s circle, Sydney Loa threw five innings and gave up seven runs, five of that have been earned, with 10 hits. She struck-out two batters and walked two.
As the count goes 0-2 Shelly shoots a nasty curve ball to get the first out, the second out is also a strikeout. The third out comes with a ground ball to Colby at shortstop. All of our outs came very quick with a groundout, flyout, and strikeout. Almost all the innings went very quick especially since no you got a run, however, both teams did eventually get a hit in the 4th and 5th innings. The hits did no harm either way. We had many chances to take the lead, but we were not able to come through. With a player at the plate, and a 3-2 count, they get a walk, which puts him on first. “One pitch at a time, turn two!” Bam! A base hit to left field, now they have a runner in scoring position, that enables them to score on a base hit. Oh no, it can be, why now, a hard line drive flies through the air toward left-center field. Woho! Great play! A spectacular diving catch by Spanky. It was just what we needed. The next play we get a ground ball to Colby for the last out. Bottom of the fifth inning bases loaded, Jack’s at the plate. Crack……..a fly ball with two outs, and we can’t even get a run. That is the second time Jack has done that, with bases loaded. We were all very
