Who is your hero? If that question was asked to a group of people, some might think of loved ones or family, and some may talk about doctors, firemen, or even a teacher. However, most would probably say their hero was some celebrity or star athlete. While some celebrities and athletes can justifiably be labeled "heroes", there are some people who may appear to be heroic, but lead a completely different life off the field.

I believe that a hero can be anyone. Hero means something different to everyone. People save lives in many ways and often go unrecognized because they do not wear a uniform or a tight colorful costume. The hero is not always the officer in war. Sometimes it’s the nurses or doctors that keep them alive. The hero is not always the government entity who swoops in and saves the women and children from abuse. Sometimes it is their own emotional strength that saves them and makes them heroes. The hero is not always Superman who saves the human race from extinction once again. A Hero is someone who is greatly admired. A Hero could be someone as real as you and me or it could be a fictional character like Batman or Captain America. They could be a powerful being or an inspirational teacher that leads you to the path for the rest of your life. Everyone has their own hero for their own reason.

Heroes come in many different forms. Heroes can be anyone, they can be your, mom, dad, sister, brother, etc. My hero is my best friend Sarah Watt. She’s kind, sweet, honest, and caring. We became friends because of the nice thing she done for me and I’ll never let it go.

Anyone who influences anyone else by saving or helping save his or her lives can be a hero. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. changed the lives of millions of people by bringing justice to minorities. Mahatma Gandhi, one of the greatest heroes, led a nonviolent revolution to free his country. Even a parent can be a hero to his or her child by leading them in the right direction. All teachers are heroes when they make it their job to teach a child anything that will help them in life. You don’t have to go to great lengths by risking your life to make a difference in someone else’s life.

Heroes come in all sizes, shapes, genders, and backgrounds. Heroes can be defined by many different standards and are people of great character, who spend their lives doing what they can to help others in need. Everyone has his or her favorite hero, my favorite hero is one that is little known but to me is a true inspiration. My hero is Rolf Benirschke. He is my hero for the courage, inspiration, and help that his words provided me when I was recovering from lifesaving surgery.

Who is your hero? Before that, what exactly makes someone a hero? Is someone a hero because of their traits or because of their actions? All of the answers to these questions can only be answered by you. I, however, have a hero. His name is Greg Grey. I could give you reasons why I consider him a hero, but I think a story better answers why I consider Greg Grey a hero.

Everyone has someone they consider a hero. Heroes can be anyone with astounding courage and strength. Individuals who choose to risk their own life to increase the happiness and fairness in others’ lives are heroes. A hero is someone who is daring, cunning, and humble. A great example of someone who is a hero is Neil Armstrong because he was daring, honorable, and, of course, brave.

Every person has a different image pop up in their head when they think about what a hero is. With a vast amount of reasons for why someone should be qualified as a hero. Most people choose a  person who makes them believe they are capable of anything just by what they could accomplish. A hero should be someone you look up to and are impressed by all they have and can do.  That is why my hero is Deborah Speer (my mom), her accomplishments inspire me everyday.

Can anyone be a hero? Yes, i truly believe anyone can be a hero. You can be a hero simply by giving someone food from the food bank, help out the homeless and if someone needs location.

When the word "hero" is spoken, everyone has different thoughts. Some will think of super powers like flying and saving people from villains; while others have a certain person they know or have heard of that come to mind who have done something to make a difference in the lives of others but who is a hero to you? To answer this question you must first ask yourself what a hero is; what comes to your mind when someone says the word. When I am confronted with these questions I always have the same thoughts; smart, strong will power, and someone who stands up for what they believe is right.

A hero can be anyone, but my hero is like no other. She is the kindest lady in the world and will give the shirt off her back for anyone in need. Money and time have never been in abundance to my hero, but she does not care how much money someone has or how popular they are. All she cares about is the smile on someone’s face and the warmth in their heart. Those are the reasons that my grandma Deb is my hero.

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. They can be fictional or nonfictional. Maybe a hero is a child or possibly an ordinary person. People could also have multiple heroes. Whenever I think of my current hero Erin Gruwell, their teacher, comes to mind. She proudly, selflessly, and nobly helps others. Some times in life a hero can commit minute acts of kindness.

When I think of a hero, I think of someone that is strong, intelligent , and handsome. They have courage, honesty, bravery, and selflessness. Those are some examples of a hero, but when I think of a hero, it is my dad - someone that is always there for me and will help me whenever I need him. He doesn’t save lives, and he doesn’t have a cape, but he is my hero.
