The specific engineering major I chose was Mechanical Engineering. There are many things that appeal to me about this major. The thing that appeals to me the most about mechanical engineering is that it is the broadest engineering discipline. Mechanical engineers can be found in many different fields. They help many other disciplines like civil engineers and electrical engineers when they have a project. What really influenced me to pick this discipline was my cousin Nik. Whenever I saw Nik we always talked about his job and he would always talk about how much he loved his job. He is a mechanical engineer who works on projects for the government. Essentially, he tests and develops new weapons in a lab. So whenever we would see each other …show more content…
I want to make a contribution to this world with whatever I decide to do. I feel like picking an engineering profession will put me on track to making that contribution to the world. Elon Musk is the prime example of what I want to be. Musk is making an important contribution to the world with Tesla vehicles. He began with making electrical cars to help with the environment. Then, he has just started to introduce Tesla semi-trucks. Elon Musk is making electrical vehicles more affordable and a better option than gas powered cars. I feel like the contribution Elon Musk is making to the world is great. He is helping the environment by reducing gas emissions given off by cars. The type of contribution I would like to give the world would also be to help the environment in some way. Becoming an engineer is important to me because I know many people count on engineers. I know it is also important for engineers to be ethical. I believe that I will strive to be the best engineer I can be and I will also strive to be an ethical one. There aren’t too many people who actually care about what they do. I take pride in my work and I also know how I can affect the world with my actions. There are many people who work just for money and money is their motivation. Money is my motivation to be quite honest. However, doing what is right is more important than making money. Therefore, if I had a choice to make a lot of money on a project by sacrificing the safety of people,
the Academy offers majors in many branches of engineering, such as electrical and nuclear, that interest me. I wanted to become an engineer since I was younger because of the problem solving skills required to be successful. I enjoy finding problems and finding solutions to them, it is second nature to
The career I chose to undertake as my profession is that of a mechanical engineer. Why do I want to become a mechanical engineer? Well, for starters, I would be able to design, build and possibly repair many various machines and other technologies that are complex. These technologies can range from being already in use on a global scale to new, futuristic designs that are highly technical. Also, this career includes being a sort of jack-of-all-trades, where I would possess knowledge in mathematics, physics, etc. Finally, this career offers me the chance to expand outside my immediate area since mechanical engineers are well desired around the globe as well.

It's important to me that I study and work with something that's real, rather than subjective. When I first started to look at career paths, I found that my biggest concern was making sure that I will be able to make an impact on the world that I can feel proud of. Engineering is the field that most appeals to me in that I would be creating or refining real, tangible things, and that those things would have real, positive effects on people's lives. I know that engineering is a great opportunity to work with others and combine my strengths with other engineers, as well as people from various other
From a young age, I have been fascinated by making things and learning how they work. My educational experience and community service projects have given me an appreciation for engineering from project managing and constructing my Eagle Scout project to enjoying my chemistry and physic classes. I plan on obtaining a degree in Engineering because I enjoy taking something from conception to production and I am interested in the science and math behind
When it comes to a major I have narrowed my options down to technology and engineering, but there are many different types of engineers and careers you can go into dealing with technology. Doing research in this field may help me lean towards what type of engineer I want to be. I would be very interested in researching in Biology to better understand the material Biology comes with, such as soil science to better understand agriculture. I would be interested in researching Physics and accounting as both are math based. I have always loved math whether it is Calculus, Algebra or Statistics. Doing research at USDA will give me a better feel of having a job in a certain aspect of technology, which can help guide me exactly to what I want a career
Selecting a college major is an important decision, and it is not one that should be made lightly. It is important to remember, however, that declaring a major is not an irreversible decision. It is not uncommon for college students to change majors one or more times after they enroll in college. Sometimes, you need time, research, and reflection before you can choose a college major. Setting college goals can help you, as can understanding different college majors and how they can move you closer to your goals. Do your research, keep an open mind, and be honest with yourself, and you can choose a college major that
I chose the CSD major because it is a field that I am passionate about and intrigued by. I went to speech therapy as a child and that is how I became introduce to the occupation of a speech therapist. When I began deciding which career path to follow, I knew I wanted to work in a helping profession. Communication is a huge part of daily life, and I love the idea of being able to impact someone on such a profound level. Now, most of the people decide to go to college or university after graduates from high school. College major is the compass for a student in future. The major is variable in a lot of fields; everyone should pick at least one. I realized I chose biology as my specific major is a good advance for me later. I want to follow my passion for the medical field; I feel interested in learning more about science; it will support me well in the future.
My major is Biology Pre-Med. I chose this particular major because I eventually want to become a doctor. The thing I like about this field is I like helping people; I want to save as many lives as possible.
After taking AP Chemistry, I knew that I wanted to study chemistry in college. I also have been a very inquisitive person my whole life, wondering why things are and how things worked. My inquisitive nature and love of chemistry is why chemical engineering appeals to me. I am drawn to Biomedical engineering due to its application of both chemistry and biology to solve medical problems. Doing a complete 360, I am interested in art history, because not only do I find art fascinating, but I also find it mesmerizing how artists visually represent and were inspired by the world around them.
There are many majors out there and tons to choose from. Many students in high school by now have an idea on what they’re interested on becoming. So far, I have no clue on what I want to study, but I do have a picture of it. Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make in your life. Because of that you have to choose very carefully and make sure whatever you choose will suite you. Whether it’s from engineering or going into the medical field, they all take time. Here I have chosen 5 careers that I myself am very interested on studying after high school.
Money and fame do not motivate my goals. Engineering in all forms is a field of innovation and invention. Aspirations of any great engineer should be to introduce to the world a new idea, product, or service that will make people happier and the environment safer. Success in these challenges is a reward greater than any dollar amount or public recognition. Engineers bring societies to new levels of civilization through their advancements in technology and discovery. The challenge to provide people with ever-increasing standards while at the same time feeding the population with ideas of what could be attracts my imagination, intelligence, and curiosity far more
Finding out how and why things work and discovering how products are made has always my passion. I regularly watch engineering and science shows on the television. From my childhood, I have always been a very curious person who would not believe just because someone told me, but I had to know the reason behind it. Science always fascinated me, and I always wondered how we remained on the ground and never fell off something that is spherical. In school I was more interested in maths and science rather than History or Arts and this made me choose Chemistry, maths and physics as my Higher subjects. This has helped me appreciate how Science has been utilised to improve man’s life and make it easier. It is because of this that I would like to
My whole life I have always wanted to become a successful engineer, and graduate from the University of Cincinnati. Some of my goals in life are to go to the University of Cincinnati. Another one of my goals is to become some type of engineer. But as of right now I would like to be a aerospace engineer. To be honest I really don’t know what influenced me to want to become and engineer. But something about engineering always appealed to me for some reason. But lately my engineering teacher has had a positive impact on me and is really making me like engineering and the overall field. So I guess that Mr. Smith has influenced me into being an engineer. My plan b is to be an engineer too. But this type of engineering would just be easier to
