The Great Gatsby, has been an iconic American classic for decades. This read is one of the most descriptive and foreshadowing novels in history, making it one America’s favorites. From the various symbols used to the in-depth text, much can be concluded about the author and his unique writing skills.
The Great Gatsby took place during the 1920’s, also known as the roaring 20’s, due to the huge step in economics that America had taken and the massive amounts of parties that took place throughout this time frame. The story is narrated by Nick Carraway in both the movie and the novel. The only difference is in the movie is that Nick tells the story while he is in a doctor's office and in the novel Nick is telling the story in the present. Between the novel ,who was wrote F. Scott Fitzgerald, and the movie ,directed by Baz Luhrmann, the movie is more fast pace in setting out the whole story than the novel is. In the novel, it also states that Mr. Gatsby's father was there at the funeral, while in the movie, they left him out because they wanted to focus on Nick. …show more content…

This light, not only the light but the color green, represents love, money, and the future. For instance, when Gatsby sees this light in the distance, it reminds him of Daisy and how she’s always been his goal in life, even after he served in the war.
