Alice walker in ''Everyday use'' shows us how a small thing can make a conflict and distinguish between sisters. She also show a point which is Sisters with Nothing in Common in Everyday Use When two children are brought up by the same parent in the same environment, everyone logically conclude that these children will be very similar, or at least have the same qualities. In Alice Walker's "Everyday Use," this is not happened. The only thing Maggie and Dee share in common is the fact that they were both raised by the same woman in the same home. They differ in appearance, personality. Alice carefully portray the draw of the three characters ‘Dee, Mama and Maggie’. Dee is a selfish and bossy person she act like she hold the life in her hand. She is a showy person and that's present of her friends as he befriend those who praised her. She rarely visits her mother and her sister's and even if she visited them she never brought her friends with her as she is ashamed of her house. Dee is educated reverse her Sister Maggie as Mama’s church provides the money for Dee’s education. When Dee visited her mother she told her that she changed her name to Wangero. She said that she do that cause Dee the name that she was called remembered her of people who oppressed her. Dee has always wanted something. Dee wants to take things that have come from her relatives and shows her heritage. Dee wants the quilt because they are "priceless" as cultural items. The mother reused to give it to her cause she promised Maggie that she is the one that she will have them, but Dee was angry and told her that Maggie will not appreciate the quilt as she will but the mother refused and she give the quilts to
