Distracted driving affects all drivers from time to time and can come off with stiff consequences . Any activity that diverts attention from driving could put you and someone else in danger .Being distracted while driving , and the issues behind it could ruin someone's life.

With new technology being introduced on almost a daily basis, it needs to be decided what ways are safe to use that technology. Advanced technology has created an abundance of things that can be used while driving. The most popular technology used while driving is the cell phone. Although it was invented in the 1970s, the cell phone did not gain momentum until the 2000s. Even during its first days, the effect of a cell phone distraction was already in the spotlight (Brown, Tickner & Simmonds, 1969). Hillary Coltharp was a 26 year old who loved playing with her son, partying with friends and family, and working at a local hair salon. Unfortunately, due to distracted driving, that was all about to change. As Hillary was heading to meet her family for dinner when her family called to check on her. After ensuring her family that she was on her way, Hillary began to text while she was driving. After a while, her family began to worry and started to look for her. As they made it to highway they discover Hillary’s convertible being placed on a tow truck. Distracted driving had caused her to lose control of her vehicle, cross the median, roll three times and finally, be ejected 75 feet from her vehicle. She suffered a skull fracture, a major brain injury, broken bones, a collapsed lung and countless other injuries (KOHP). This is just one example of how just one text can ruin a life. Distracted driving is very dangerous and it only takes a few second to cause a fatal accident, therefore, texting and driving should be illegal.

In our fast-paced world, people often attempt to multitask. While multitasking works great at times, multitasking while driving leads to distracted driving. Unfortunately, distracted driving can lead to car wrecks, some of which result in fatalities. While not all driving distraction can be completely eliminated, there are several things you can do to avoid becoming a distracted driver.

In this assignment we have to choose whether we should answer the question "Does our state do enough to prevent distracted driving?" or "Can a PSA help reduce the number of distracted driving incidents?" My claim is that Florida doesn't do much when it comes to texting and driving. You can make as much PSA's as you want but people don't listen unless their are actual consequences. The texting and driving law are not punishable enough. When a cop catches you while you text and drive, these are consequences. A fine of $25 for a first offense, $50 for a second offense, and $75 for a third offense. These offense aren't taking seriously. I feel like the price should be in the 100's.

In my opinioin my state does not do enough to prevent distracted drivers. It does do somethimgs and it has gotten better over the years but i think it needs to be a lot better.

Most people agree that using a cell phone while operating an automobile is quite dangerous and can lead to injuries or even death! Driving while using a cell phone is very dangerous because it is distracting, illegal, and one can cause an accident. Probably around 90% of people think driving while using a cell phone is dangerous, yet more than half of them still do it.

The state of Iowa is not doing enough to prevent distracted driving. Although the government has passed laws to prevent people from using their electronic devices and attempting other tasks behind the wheel, the law is not fully enforced by law enforcement officers. Iowa doesnt need more laws, they should send every new driver though a class to teach them about the dangers of distracted driving. some may say that distracted driving isnt something the government should worry about as it is a personal choice whether you drive distracted or not, this has some merit but, when someone chooses to drive while distracted they are not only putting themselfs in danger but everyone else that is on that road beside that driver as well. in the world today

Almost everyone with a driver’s license has heard about distractions causing motor vehicle accidents. Distracted driving is indeed the culprit, but the calamities that occur are not accidents. Unpredictable events qualify as accidents, the consequences of distracted driving are predictable and since car crashes are predictable they are preventable.

Florida does do enough to prevent distracted driving. Florida has passed a law to prevent texting while driving, which is one of the most common forms of distracted driving. Although Florida has passed this law. There are still people who insist on disobeying the law and continue to risk the lives of many people. 12% of distracted drivers that get involved in fatal accidents are teens.If 16 year olds could not drive then there would be less accidents on the road. 16 year olds also cannot do a lot of things that adults can, this is for a reason and driving should be one of them.16 years old is too young to get a drivers license.
