After high school I have strong intentions on moving forward with my education by going to college. By going to college I attend to further expand my knowledge in a field that I am interested in pursuing, so that I can
The colleges I am considering are Purdue University, University of Illinois, University of Missouri, Xavier University, and Louisiana State University. I am not certain on what major I am going to pursue. However, majors that I am considering are law, criminology, athletic training, sports management, and allied health. I also have intentions to minor in either African American studies or English since I possibly could pursue a law degree. I am attending to double major. I believe that I have a good chance in double majoring because I will enter college with at least six college credits from being a part of the High School Scholars program at Lewis University, which allows me to take one college course each semester to earn credits that could be transferred. For the fall semester I took Culture and Civilization I and earned he grade of an A-. Currently, I am taking Culture and Civilization II for

I am a huge sports fan and baseball is my favorite sport and it would be a dream for me to become a major league baseball executive. Since this dream is a long shot another career that I was pondering on is becoming a civil rights activist, community organizer, or a parole officer. I am also considering a career in athletic training, as a backup plan since the medical field is a constant growing industry. My future goal in life is to have a career that will contribute to the greater good in society. Additionally, I hope to have a career that will be able to support me and my family in which the income would reflect the hard work that I have spent my entire life in preparing for a job in the
The twelve years you spend of your life going to school, is about learning new things and preparing yourself for the real world. Towards the last four years of school, you start thinking about what you want to do after high school, you start taking classes that’s required for what you want to go into, looking at colleges where you can get your degree. College isn’t for everyone right after their done with High School. Other people don’t need college for what they’re going to do, they can just start there job right away. Some people that have no idea what they want to do might consider going into the military, then find something in any of the fields.
Going directly to college after high school can be completely beneficial to one’s life. It is what the government encourages while in high school and can easily be accomplished. By attending college at a young age you can live the infamous college life that so many adults speak of as “the best four years of my life”. These four years can be achieved and should be enjoyed. As a young student, one can have the stamina to attend class with hours on end. As a current college student, I see many adults coming back to college because they have been part of the group that has tried to succeed while only having a high school diploma. The truth of the matter is those high school students that realize that a four-year degree in college can secure a place in life that is acceptable for them will be the ones to succeed; furthermore, these students are the future of America.
Many high school students struggle on the fact whether or not should they attend college after high school or not. College is a place to further someone’s education rather than just having an average high school diploma. A person can attend college for however long they want to receive any degree to mind. Going to college will be a helpful advantage to a person life because a person can live finically stable, choose your own career, and enjoy the lifestyle that comes with going away for college.
After four years of high school, there is only one goal I have in mind. That goal is to attend college. This is the next big step in my life. All the late nights I stayed up to complete school assignment was for this moment. All my hard work was has lead me to this point in life. College will open a whole new to me. A world where I can meet new people while working to improve my future. Why do I want to attend college though? Well I have three specific reasons for this decision.
One question that comes to mind when graduating high school is, “should I attend college?” For many graduates this question have a very obvious answer. A high school graduate may state that, “college is the best option if one is trying to get a higher level of education, and will help one compete for a higher paying job.” However, in my opinion most graduates do not consider the fact that going to college is a very big decision to make and that the schoolwork will not be easy. Going to college is not the best choice for every high school graduate because many students cannot handle college, colleges’ lower standards, and not all jobs require a college degree.
When I graduated high school I had no idea what I wanted to do, all I knew is I was done with public school and could live my life as what I thought an adult was. My father and most of my family believed it was important for me to go to college, and get a kick start with my life. Though they weren’t wrong, I had no idea what I wanted to do and no discipline to do my studies to the full extent of my abilities.
Everyone has their dreams and aspirations of what they want to be. The profession I plan to go into is the medical field. I am passionate about this because it feels great to help someone. Whenever a person is in need, it should be an instinct to help them and this is the main reason I am wanting to become a doctor. Every time I am sick I go to the doctor and they are able to help me get better. In a couple of days my sickness would be gone and I would be so happy and thankful that the doctor was able to assist me. This inspired me to become a doctor because once they finished their prognosis it makes the person feel so much better. Since I volunteer in a hospital over the weekends, usually discharging patients or delivering flowers it helps me see an aspect of what it would be like to work as a doctor. Communicating with patients and nurses has shown me it is a pleasure to help others.
When deciding on colleges to apply to, one of my top criteria was that I want to be able to complete a double major, specifically in theater and biology. Ever since I was in fifth grade, I have loved the art of theater. I was always fascinated how live actors on a stage could transmit powerful messages about human experience through fictionalized settings. I became fixated with playing other characters, loving how I could dive into other types of people's psyche and create real, emotional responses through audiences. I cherished the idea of becoming an actor one day, but was swayed by the popular opinion that, in reality, acting is a very competitive and unstable career field. Entering my junior year of high school, I was rather uncertain about
As a senior in high school, questions regarding college and my plans for the years following graduation are asked to me on a day-to-day basis. College is definitely the most important thing I am focused on this year, and although a college degree is highly valued in the job field today, many argue that not everyone should attend college due to the fact that it brings a new level of responsibility that many cannot handle, many careers now do not require a four-year degree, and because students no longer have the desire to learn.
“The Triple Double.” Did you know triple doubles are hard to get during a game? But Russell Westbrook averaged about 68 triple doubles every game. A double double is another good thing to get but its not better than a triple double. Basketball has lots of great things to the game. Triple doubles an get you awards for the season like an MVP or
I want to go to college because of the chances that will present themselves in my future. These opportunities will benefit me in different aspects of my life. For instance, I will be able create a support group of lifelong friends that will be there for me during hard times, and I will gain essential knowledge that will help advance me professionally and academically. My first step is to
Thinking back to what made me consider the medical field, I don’t remember considering any other field. Before I could even understand what physicians actually did, I knew that they had a major impact on a person’s life. It is obvious that doctors save life everyday, but the way they save lives was always interesting to me.Beyond all the medicine and surgery, a physician takes the time to guide and support every patient. Being a physician is not purely ingrained in science, nor is it purely ingrained in humanism. It was the unique combination of both that drew me to consider being a physician.
I have a weighted GPA of 4.8125 on a 4.0 scale, thanks to my 26 Honors credits (soon to be 29, as of the end of my current semester). Looking at my unweighted GPA, it is a 4.0 out of a 4.0. I have participated in dual enrollment through my local community college. Through this extracurricular program, I have completed 11 college courses that are necessary for my desired major. Within the next two weeks, that number will become 13 courses, adding up to a large portion of my required college credits.
Based on my current interests and achievements, in ten years I picture myself owning my own sports rehab firm. I will have graduated from Physical Therapy school with my Doctorate. I might go back to school to get a degree in Athletic training, so that i can work directly with sports teams at the high school, college, or ever professional level. I would still like to continue with my community service like I do now or even coordinate and sponsor events with my company, such as food and clothes drives or mentoring youth at summer camps. The community service that I am currently involved with at St. Margaret Health Hospital exposed me to the hospital setting which helped me decide that I would like to work in a hospital in the future. I would
Planning your future is an important part of being a high school student. What you do after you graduate high school has a very big impact on the rest of your life. Many parents start a college fund or a savings account so that their child will have money to use when they go to college. If their child doesn’t want to go to college, some parents will give them the money to buy a house and get a good job in what they want to do. In this day and age, college is almost a necessity if you want to live a good job. Higher paying jobs require at least an associate’s degree; though there are some fields of work that do not require any kind of college.
