Dream Once, there was a girl name Gabby. She had a beautiful voice. She wanted to sing in front of everybody. That was her dream. Her parents wouldn’t let her. Gabby was so sad. Her parents enrolled her in soccer. She wasn’t good at it, she was always singing in her head. At soccer, Gabby made new friends: Kayla and Riley. Kayla wanted to be a musician, and Riley wanted to be a dancer. After soccer practice one day, Gabby looked into the eyes of her parents and started to sing. They looked at each other and were surprised how beautiful voice her was. From then on, Gabby was living her dream. The Dream Band was created. Kayla was playing the guitar, Riley was the pianist, and Gabby was the lead
During her senior year in 2004, she decided to audition for America's hit TV show “American Idol”. Not only did she move on to the next level of the competition, she also
Everyone in the world has had at least one dream in their lifetime. Most people do not think much about the dreams that they have, unless they are recurring. Dreaming is “a series of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during REM sleep.” Most people today wake up from a dream or nightmare saying, “thank god that was a dream,” or “too bad that was just a dream.” Many times these dreams or nightmares have more meaning than we may think. If people took more time to consider the meaning behind the dreams they have, then dream interpretation could be used as a means to help resolve issues in our awaken lives, including helping to
Amira was determined to sing in front of her school but she was still afraid. Amira kept on practicing the song over and over until the day finally came. When Amira sang all of her determination paid off and she didn’t let her shyness get in her way. Amira sang the song and
While in the orphanage, she found a magazine, and on the cover was a ballerina on pointe. She was absolutely memorized by this, and she decided that she would one day become that ballerina. She knew she would never become a ballerina living in an
What are dreams? Some would say they are imaginations and fantasies, whereas others would claim dreams to be their aspirations, desires, and hopes, something they want to achieve someday. Aerosmith uses the latter group’s meaning of dreams in their song “Dream On”. The song exposes how one spends their whole life reaching the goals and wants that may never be all fulfilled, but continues to dream and hope, corresponding with the difficulties the band itself faced during the start of their career and how they kept trying to get to the top.
Later that day Lisa saw the NWSL championship game and she was inspired by Crystal Dunn’s beautiful goal. So she practiced and practiced all by her self for many days until she finally thought she might be good enough.
Her parents, who both played sports, encouraged her to start playing at a young age. The first sport she played was soccer which helped her make friends and become more social. She was on a competitive soccer team, and they were at the end of the year tournament in Kansas City, Kansas. They got into the championship game. During the game, both teams scored two goals, so they went into overtime, and a second overtime. No one scored during either overtime so they went into a shoot out. Abbey was the third person on her team to shoot, and she was the first to miss. The other team missed so Abbey’s team won. Soccer made her more confident and started her interest in sports.
I couldn’t wait till 2:30 that Thursday afternoon. I wanted to be either Frenchy, Marty, or Betty Rizzo. Dancing to “We Go Together”, the people auditioning were so anxious and couldn’t wait until we could sing and show the judges our talent. Trying to learn the dance routine I knew in my mind that I would definitely get a role. “I don’t seem to mind somehow…” practicing everyday adding my own flavor to the song, I tried to get the notes right and show my own originality within the time I had to sing. Singing in front of the judges, I tried to be calm but I knew that I was nervous. I sang my heart out as the expressions on the judges’ faces exposed that they were impressed. Looking at the callback list I saw my name “Bianca Hines – Ensemble” I was happy with myself. I was also casted as Teen Angel, I didn’t know what to expect but I knew a lot would be learned through this experience.
Those pictures of the floods are frightening, it is awful for those people loosing their homes, and the lost habitats of the animals. Get Smart was one of my favourites in the 60's and still is today, I have the first series on DVD and keep meaning to get the rest, he had a very rare Sunbeam Tiger in bright red. The Beverley hillbillies, Adams family, the Munsters and man from uncle were all favourites, I had a man from uncle set comprising an attaché case and a pen with invisible ink, also had the Corgi car version of the car from the series, an Oldsmobile if I remember right. I never saw Zorro the series though I remember a movie of that name. I remember Clarence the cross eyed lion, and Judy but what did they call the chimp ? was it Ghia ?, I always wanted to be a zoo keeper when I was at school, always loved animals. I saw the original series of Batman on tv a few years ago, another car I always wanted, I still have the corgi car of that, and I bought that with my pocket money when it came out, about 1968 I would think. My favourite Disney character, maybe Baloo the bear or Bageera the black panther from Jungle book, I need to think to name others. When I said 35/65 I meant that word dreamy was likely to be used 65% of the time by women because that is how women describe their pop star pin ups, where as men describing their pin ups are more likely to say, "she's fit". So for that reason the word dreamy is unlikely to be used to describe Yorkshire Wolds, more likely to be used to describe a paradise beach or somewhere of a romantic nature. It's like the word "pretty", its use is probably 95% by women, it is a girly word, the
My dream was more of a nightmare that occurred when I was very young. I remember laying in my mother’s bed while she was sleeping, and as I was laying there, I heard heavy footsteps approaching her bedroom door. I don’t know why, but I just couldn’t look away from the dim hallway where the footsteps were coming down. As the footsteps got closer and closer, I began to shift under my mom as if she was some sort of wall that blocked me from the uninvited stranger that was about to enter my mom’s room. At that moment everything slowed down, and then suddenly one brown boot appeared, and following was the other, and after that, I don’t remember anything else.
There was this woman's name Karla that play the piano and that knows how to sing, but she doesn’t know that yet, She plays her piano all day and all night, and then in the middle of the night Karla heard a trombone that was good at it, she really like it, so she follows the nose in the next door of her apartment. She wants to knock to see who is playing this beautiful trombone. But she was that kind of a shy person. So she waited till the morning to see who she/he is.
She would brainstorm all day but nothing came to mind. Later that day on the announcements at school the principal had gotten on the intercom and said: “ we are having choir tryouts on Wednesday after school so come on by.” As soon as school was over Nemes ran home to tell her parents that she was looking forward to choir but Olivia had beat her to and once again they were competing against one another. Choir tryouts were later that week and Nemes had been practicing all week. When Nemes and her sister arrived at tryouts the teacher introduced herself and started with a few warm ups and surprisingly Nemes was doing very well. Later they learned a song and they each had to perform it individually. Nemes volunteered to go first so she could just get it out of the way and the minute nemes opened her mouth the voice of a thousand angels came out. Everyone was so amazed by Nemes’ voice and even the teacher was stunned by how beautiful she sang. Olivia, on the other hand, wasn't so musically talented. The teacher posted the results after tryouts. Nemes was the first to see the results and sure enough, she saw her name on the piece of paper and she jumped with glee and couldn't help but scream. Olivia didn't see her name on the paper and she just stood there analyzing every letter on that paper as if there was a
Beside a vivid dream, there is the idea that dreams are symbolic and often hard to be interpreted. Discussion about a dream symbol came from the dream book by Artemidorus, an Italian physician from the second century A.D. (Hall). A dream book is similar to a dictionary which contains symbols in dreams and their meanings (Hall). Dream book has an argument that a dream is symbolic (Hall). In the later era, Freud uses the arguments from dream book regarding dream symbolism. Freud argues that “symbols appear in dreams because the referents for which the symbols are surrogates are distasteful to the censor” (Hall). However, the idea of dream symbol is problematic because the interpretations of dream are often different from one culture to another. Moreover, it is also hard to distinguish whether a dream is symbolic or not. For instance, when I dream about my parents have divorced because my father cheat on my mother, is it a vivid dream or a symbolic dream? With an
She played her flute the best she could, but the nerves began to bother her.
