One quote by Edgar Allan Poe that caught my eye first was “All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream” (Poe "A Dream Within a Dream"). This quote shows that you do not really know what is true or what is not true (Shmoop Editorial Team 2008). One thing that Edgar was known for by a lot of people was for his horror and mystery poems he made. A couple of those literatures that he wrote were “The Tell-Tale Heart”, and “The Fall of the House of Usher” (Editors "Edgar Allan Poe" 2016). There is a few more poems that he has written which were “Al Aaraaf “, “Tamerlane”, and a collection of minor poems .Edgar Allan Poe has been through many difficult trials in his life.

The speaker who read off his poem was Lenore's husband who didn't have an audience since he was just speaking to himself. It was all set late at night when he was trying to forget about his lost love, but could not (Shmoop Editorial Team "The Raven" 2008). Therefore, that is why most of Lenore's husbands nights consists of him staying up late while he is trying to get his mind off of her death, so he is deciding to read(Shmoop Editorial Team "The Raven" 2008) . What they are trying to say about Edgar Allan Poe is that what he feels is that his soul will never leave The Raven’s shadow since his loved one died (Shmoop Editorial Team "The Raven" 2008). The explanation on why Lenore's Husband had the tone of being melancholic was because he was really upset most of the time because he would use imagery throughout “The Raven” to symbolize death. The form of structure he put everything in was a precisely organized poem since in every stanza there is rhyme to it and he makes those words stand out most of the time(Shmoop Editorial Team "The Raven" 2008) . This poem has a couple sound devices that consist of rhyme and alliteration. For rhyme it would be the meaning that corresponds of sounds between words or of the ending of words.
