After completing the EFI assessment I will probably never hear these songs again. However, I found a lot about how these songs effect my feelings. Before listening to my music I was really calm sitting down on my bed. I tend to listen to music while I lay down or need some rest. For this assignment I did not listen to the music and graphed my feelings using the EFI feeling scale. I was surprised how high it was when I graphed my physical exhaustion. I believe it was high because I was really tired. After first completing my first EFI assessment I listen to my playlist. The graph was completely different this time. I was in a better and more relaxing mood before listening to the music. My tranquility went way up compared to before listening
Not only does music affect thought, but it also benefits health. Students usually study in quiet, relaxed surroundings while listening to serene music. Classical music can steady a fast heartbeat and a slower heartbeat induces relaxation. Exercise plays a critical role in maintaining good health, and relaxing music can be favorable to this. During the course of everfi I learned a lot. My knowledge of financial literacy grew as well as my skill of responsibility. Everfi has also shown different ways I can help my future or make it become easier in general. Whether it is unexpected accidents or just trying to earn a few extra dollars every month, the tips I learned are going to be useful.
Because musical pieces portray emotions, different music make people feel different things and thus get associated with different things. Jay Dowling and Dane Harwood explain that "patterns within the music itself ... of tensions and relaxations ... mirror the form of emotional tensions and relaxations" (Dowling 205) that humans relate to their own.
