Through this Elphaba learns magic as well as how to use it and gains a hatred for humanity. Discrimination against the Animals is a major and recurring theme in the book. The brutality and hardships that the Animals faced played a major role in shaping Elphaba’s life. He’s an attempted killer that shows little remorse for his actions. He only feels his pride and rage. The blood is on his hands. His own blood. He only died in vain from his original goal. Bob is basically an idiotic and prideful coward that shows little remorse for his actions.
Parvana is a novel written by Deborah Ellis that was published in 2002. Throughout the detailed book, Parvana and her companions encounter certain responsibilities which relate to the quote; ‘Some responsibilities are taken by choice, others are forced upon us.’ This especially relates to a certain character in the book, Mrs Weera who is one of Parvana’s old school teachers. These emotions are clear in Gregory Maguire's famous novel, Wicked, which was published in 1995 and takes place in the Land of Oz. The character Ellie Weisel in “Night” by Ellie Weisel himself, goes through a change of personality throughout the story. Ellie starts off in the beginning of the story as a strong believer in god, this mindset progresses throughout the story before he realises that God might not be with him after all. Ellie was 12 years old, he was passionate in religion and was motivated to learn Kabbalah. Ellie had a mentor called Moshie, Moshie strongly believed in god until he lost faith when he escaped from Sighet. Moshie was deported and sent to Sighet since he was a Jew, the only hope he had to escape and to survive was to get out of Sighet and warn the others. Louis Zamperini’s life, he had some difficulties, and may be different from others, but he still had made through all of the difficulties he’ve been through. For him he made it through with a blink of an eye, well at least that’s how it showed the readers. Louie was different from other kids. He would drink beer and smoke at a young age. He then grew little by little becoming a runner. He was the best runner people have ever seen in forever. He was best known for that, he went to the Olympics, but it got canceled because of war, their war against Japan. His two character traits that stood out the most was being strong and fearless. This story is based on real life, and on a book called Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.
