These are the roughest conditions I’ve dived in so far on the expedition” The way he says that they’ve been up the whole night doing checks without sleep and how this is one of the roughest conditions he has dived in so far just gives the sense of nervousness if he will make the challenge.

Exaggeration? No. It’s the satire to the false meaning of the universal happiness, and it’s this quote which made me had rethink what do I really want and the way of living I want to choose. 1. A large amount of construction and building work was going on in the city. This quote mean is whatever wrong doing someone has committed it’s the outcome is what matters. Furthermore, it is saying what the consequences will do the person. For example, Jack Gantos is participating in drug smuggling, which is wrong, and it lead to severe consequences. These consequences are going to change his personality, thinking, and lifestyle. Thus, the quote is meant to show how one will overcome and learn from the consequences of their actions.
On page 51 the the second paragraph says "But he had to admit that on the days when Attean did not come the hours went by slowly." Attean didn't even like the lessons that Matt gave him. Although, Attean hated them he still went to Matts house. Therefore I believe that Attean only goes for company. Matt may feel the same way, maybe he feels lonely too. This is why I think that Matt feels like the hours go by slowly.
I wake up in the morning to find half of the Zeros gone and already at breakfast. I see Flynn reading something all the way across the room. He usually reads in the morning waiting for me to get up, which impresses me because in Society Z you don’t have much use for books. You don’t have much use for anything. Which is probably why we’re here.
The chapter continues with the two boys, Tom and Huck, carefully walking through the path. They walk past the kitchen, where they try to avoid Jim, Miss. Watson’s slave. Jim hears them and comes to investigate. The two boys are hiding, while Jim comes close to them, but doesn’t see them. Jim decides to stay in that position until he hears the noise again. While Huck is debating whether he should scratch his nose, Jim falls asleep. Tom tells Huck about Jim, that he is respected by the other slaves, for going against the devil. But Jim had begun to become cocky for seeing the devil and fighting the witches.
Crane’s approach to writing about the war was fresh because, of the fact that we were basically inside the heads of one of the soldiers(henry). We could feel how he felt and we knew his fears. Besides that Crane was blunt about how disorganized the war was.

My old journal got taken away when I got locked up in this box. All I get is a bible. The bible looks like its been handed out before to others that have passed in this God forsaken rat hole… I can’t keep my sanity much longer. I’m losing it! All I get is a little pea size hole that gives off some light, if that. Most of the time it’s filled with mud. I have come to believe that the mud is from the vehicles moving outside.
