Based on the movie “A Christmas Carol 2009”, issue that we found that relevant to the business ethic is the corporate social irresponsibility (CSI). Corporate social irresponsibility (CSI) refers to the dark side, as it investigates the wrongful and damaging business decisions that managers might take. Corporate social irresponsibility to concepts such as corporate culpability and undesirability and irresponsibility, in its various forms such as corruption, bribery, environmental degradation, and social injustice, is most frequently found in poorer regions, those with fewer social resources or educational opportunities (Sanchez‐Runde et al., 2013, p. 690). Because of corporate social irresponsibility, the business performance decline, customer dissatisfaction and low profitability will be happen. In the beginning, we found that the unethical issue is that the ignorance of legal responsibilities. This mean that the business ignore the laws and regulations that all firms that are expected to abide by as they perform their daily functions. In the movie, Ebenezer Scrooge as a founder and employer of his business named “SCROOGE & MARLEY” abuse and do not follow the laws and regulations in the city. The ignorance issues is that workplace uncomfortable, underpaid salary, long working hours and annual leave issue.

In the movie, Bob Cratchit mentioned that he only have one day holiday which is on the Christmas Day for a year of working with company. In the movie also, Bob Cratchit gets to the point of begging Scrooge to take Christmas Day off, so he can spend time with his family but Scrooge provide a condition that he must come earlier than the normal day at the next day. Scrooge must not unreasonably refuse an employee’s request to take annual leave. This practices had influence Bob Cratchit’s work-life balance and also well
