In William Shakespeare's tragic play Macbeth, Macbeth is a tragic hero. His tragic flaws contribute to the changes he makes during the play. Lady Macbeth, the Witches, and Macbeth himself are influences to his decisions in the play.
Macbeth was very considerate in what life had given him, but then three witches told him he would be king if he killed three certain people. He became ambitious and followed the plan of the witches, which lead to destructing himself. “ He won’t catch a wink of sleep, either at night or during the day. He will live as a cursed man.” ( Macbeth pg.11). For example in this quote the witches tell him that if he does not do what they say then he will be restless, and damned. Another example is “ I have never seen a day that was so good and bad at the sametime”(Macbeth pg.13). Which this explains how Macbeth was astonished of the news that he could be king, and bad because he had to kill people to become king. Finally the witches say “ All hail, Macbeth the future king”(Macbeth pg.15) to puch Macbeth to the idea that he was already king to them. All he had to do was kill the three people to receive the title of becoming king. This is when Lady Macbeth influenced Macbeth during the play due to his ambition taking over. Lady Macbeth influenced Macbeth during the play to change from a good man into a tragic hero by making him kill people, and by saying things to him that he could not comprehend in his right mind.
