I have always wanted to go to Texas A&M, but when I was little I always thought I would never make it, Then I actually started trying with my grades and academics to do better because I knew College would be sooner than later and I did not have time to waste if I wanted to succeed in life and I already knew what I wanted to be, a dental hygienist, but back then I did not think about cost or years of schooling I just knew that was what I wanted to be and where I wanted to go when I grew up. I want to be accepted into Texas A&M in College Station but only twenty five percent or less of your class can get accepted into A&M and there is also tons of towns in Texas and they also would most certainly go to Texas A&M University so even though they only take twenty five percent from your class they would not take all of that percent because others who are really smart would like to go to other colleges somewhere else, not everyone wants to go to A&M just because it is in …show more content…
The salary of a dental hygienist is approximately $73,000 a year and $34.77 and hour which is a good amount of money for the amount of work that you are assigned to do on a daily routine but that could be the pay that they get in big cities or in other states. When I am done with college instead of returning back to the small town of Hallettsville I would like to move to around Houston since they have tons of jobs dealing with dental and lots of people that go to the dentist every six months to get their teeth cleaned and I have heard that there is higher paying jobs in bigger cities and I would not want to live in a town with only about 2,500 people living in it, even though it's easy to get to know people I just want to be in a more populated town than the one I grew up
Overall, Texas A&M offers a great opportunity for me. Trying to get into this university alone will give me the opportunity to get better and try my hardest. I also love the fact that this school has a 20:1 student faculty ratio. I have always went to a small student faculty ratio school and I want to continue it. Last but not least, the computer science program is perfect for me. I can pursue my dream to have a job that is related with computer
I applied to many other schools besides those too. Obviously, one being Hope but I never had any ambitions to go anywhere besides Michigan or Michigan State. Hope was actually the first college I got accepted too. The only reason I applied to Hope was because my cousin went here. After receiving an acceptance letter from Hope, Kalamazoo, Michigan State, Oakland, and Grand Valley, I began to worry, “The University of Michigan is where I need to be, but what if I don’t get it”. I began to feel anxious and started to question even if I should even go to college.
Ever since I was a kid I have always thought about what college I was eventually going to go to. I made the decision in high school that I wanted to be a special education teacher, so I thought about some schools that had that teaching program. My number one school I wanted to attend that had the best teaching program was East Carolina University. Having ECU as my number one choice lead me to apply there. Weeks after I applied I got a letter telling me some sad news that I was not accepted. Since I applied to ECU and did not get in, I was now thinking about applying to other schools like Methodist University or maybe a community college.
There is a certain myth going around that college is extremely difficult to get into and you shouldn't expect it to be any easier for yourself. This myth discourages young, bright high school seniors and makes them feel like they do not have a chance at getting into college. It is statements from Ivy league schools like Harvard that say they only accept 5 percent of freshmen that applied that ruins the outlook of college for seniors but i'm here to debunk this. According to a recent study by UCLA, in 2015, they said that 76 percent of students that applied to their first choice of college were accepted and didn’t have to go and apply to tens of other of schools. Of course that leaves the other 24 percent left to struggle to get into a different
I choose for my careers are to become a veterinarian and become a youth minister. The main reasons I choose to become a veterinarian because, there are many problems with animals that people don’t deal with. I believe it has become a problem in society and our world. Many animals aren’t taken care of properly for multiple reasons. I would like to change those many reasons and have my own clinic where it is possible for animals to get help. I also choose as my secondary career is to become a youth pastor. I choose this because, my own youth pastor inspired me to what it is like to help out our younger generations in ways many don’t know how to fix.
A dream that I have is going to the University of Iowa. If I get to attend there I would like to go into dentistry and be an orthodontist. My sister, Kelsey is a freshman at the University of Iowa right now. She’s going into nursing and I think that she’ll do really good. Whenever she comes home she always says that they do really fun stuff there. They get to play flag football and my sister was complaining to me that she broke a nail. I was laughing when she said that. I look up to my sister and to be honest, I would try to go to whatever college she went to. I think that being an orthodontist would be could because you could see the patient's excited when they get their braces off. Plus, you get like six grand a person and who doesn’t want
But as financial and realistic purposes came into place there was no better place for me to be other then Arizona State. I am not the first one to attend ASU, my mother, aunt, cousin, and also my brother all attended this university and all graduated on time with degrees in their hands. I feel so sorry for the kids who go to this university and are paying thousands, but as for me I have a full ride. This college is one hundred percent free and I always knew this would benefit me in the end of my four years knowing that I would leave gradation with no debt what so ever. Knowing that I will be able to focus on what’s important and that is getting far into life and my obligations will one day be a
In four years, I see myself graduating from Western Illinois University and starting my journey of medical school. As of now, I have not come to a final decision on what I would like to focus on in medical school, but I have been thinking about physical therapy, gynecology, or a type of surgery. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be in the medical field. It started as wanting to be a veterinarian, but in high school, it evolved into working on the human side of medicine. In ten years, I plan to be working in the career I decide on. I will work my way up through the ranks to reach leadership positions within the hospital. I also want to be involved in my community to help enhance those around me. I believe it is important to stay involved
I am not going to say that I have been wanting to attend UT, since I was a little girl because I did not even know about this grand school until my junior year of high school. I honestly did not feel like I had a chance to get admitted, so it never really crossed my mind to apply. Everything changed when I saw the ranking I had achieved in my four years of high school, but even then, the closer I got to graduation I became unsure of what path I should take after graduating. I just knew I wanted a career, that allows me to help people. I was actually going to attend Sam Houston after graduation, but I felt deep down inside me it was not the school for me. Instead of going there, I enrolled in some classes at the closest community college by
As a senior in high school, my counselors have always told me that if I had an opportunity to achieve greater things I would take it. By doing so, being admitted at Texas A&M University will expand my horizons and allow me to come in contact with challenging obstacles that can benefit my knowledge as well as my ability to complete tasks at hand. The journey I would experience as an Aggie would be an unforgettable one. I have begun a new chapter in my life to carry my own responsibilities and that was by deciding my major and beginning my classes that were needed to be complete. The role of being a college student is to commit. Commit to your time management, commit to your studies, and commit to give pride in your school. These three roles
During my last few weeks in high school I was blessed with getting accepted into all four of my college choices including Sam Houston State University, Baylor College, Texas A&M Commerce, and Stephen F. Austin University. While touring schools and receiving financial aid packages I immediately turned down Texas A&M commerce and Baylor College. This of course left me with rival schools to choose between. After having the chance to tour Sam Houston I knew it was the school for me! The campus was beautiful and affordable, everyone I had spoken with was kind and knowledgeable, and I loved the fact that there was a wide variety of STEM majors I could choose between. I expected to graduate with my first degree in Health Sciences and go to medical
I never thought myself that one day I would be applying to different colleges. I don't know what college was or how much it costs when I was a freshman. Now that I see myself i'm very proud. Very proud of the accomplishments I have done. When I applied to colleges I was scared that I wasn't going to get accepted to any because of my poor grades freshman year. The very first acceptance letter I got was from fullerton. I'm not going to lie I was very excited. Then more acceptances began to come, Wells college, Buffalo State,Hofstra, UC Merced and many more. When I got my first rejection I was a bit sad but then i didn't care after because i had already been accepted to many more colleges.
My desire to constantly challenge myself fueled my decision to pursue dentistry. I strive to achieve intellectual stimulation and to positively impact the lives of others. Those same aspirations, coupled with insights gained through observing oral and maxillofacial surgeons in private practices and operating rooms, motivates me to pursue a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery. My experience
Attending college has always been a dream for me. I will be the first from my family who will have the opportunity to attend a 4 year. Throughout my childhood I would always receive motivation from my family because they all believed I had a bright future ahead of me. I've always enjoyed helping others and being someone they could trust. Entering 4th grade I was transferred to a different school, I will never forget the support that I received from my teacher throughout that school year, She impacted the way I learned and how I improved immensely. Since elementary I knew I wanted to become someone important in peoples lives and I knew becoming a teacher would fulfill that
College has always been a dream for me. Growing up neither one of my parents attended school. Not to say they haven’t had successful careers but I saw they struggles of finding a job without a degree. I knew that to pursue my dream school was crucial. My parents had never given me an option on whether or not to go to school. School had been in steeled in me since as little kid. Through school my love of kids grew. I decided at an early age that I wanted to be a teacher. I have followed that passion all the way through the years. I am currently pursuing my dream at Austin Community College. I plan on transfer to a University after getting my basics done. I am still undecided about where I may transfer too. My decision to go to school has been my biggest priority. I want to go to school so I have something to live for have a job I enjoy and change the world by touching children’s hearts.
