After that crash, people knew something by was about to happen. Although, the stock market did not cause the Great Depression people took the crash as a signal. Why? Because everyone should know that if there is a crash with money, something severe is going to happen.
The Great Depression had an impact on the lives of Americans economically and personally.
Families had much to think about, others panicked economically, and people could not be fed. There’s a picture of a mother looking around, and her children leaning their heads onto her. This is a strong photo because the Great Depression had a huge impact on families who had, not only one or two, but more than three children to care for. On page 497, the textbook’s comment from
Dorothea Lange (woman hired to document this period) says, “She has all the suffering of mankind in her, but perseverance too. A restraint and a strange courage.” They suffered, but still kept trying because their families kept them going. Families were greatly impacted by the Great
Depression because of everyday struggles to have a meal. There’s also a picture of a large group of men outside a bank. They were there because the more fancy men were going in such a debt that they had to take out all the money they had, or the money they would be allowed to withdraw.
