After receiving a prophecy from the witches the he will be king, Macbeth is excited to share the news with his beloved wife. Both of them, alone, started plotting King Duncan’s murder. Lady Macbeth seems better prepared to wear this mask, and hide her true intents than Macbeth does. Since Macbeth is seemingly incapable of facing Duncan without their plan written across his face, Lady Macbeth encourages him to “Look like th’ innocent flower, but be the serpent under’t” (I, v, 56). It is almost as if Shakespeare wanted Macbeth to be portrayed as an actor, having to put on this mask, and deliver a convincing performance of trust and loyalty. This is evident because even though Macbeth openly expresses his distaste in Duncan’s murder when he tells Lady Macbeth “We will proceed no further in this business” (I, vii, 32) he still ends up killing Duncan. Wearing this mask has taken its toll on Macbeth. His mind and body were opposed to the deed; which is shown to the readers when Macbeth sees a floating dagger. Perhaps hinting that his sanity is not intact. However, after it is done, Macbeth changes and starts molding himself to fit the mask he wears, accepting murder, and moving forward with his life. Masking intentions does not have to be for evil means. Malcolm masks himself in order to test Macduff, and by doing this he gains a friend and ally, rather than a crown and subjects. So while masking one’s intentions can yield bountiful rewards, it can also pull them towards the path of evil, for there is no yellow brick road to get lost on in this world of
For my final Macbeth project I decided to do a dramatic performance in which I was required to memorize and perform at least 10 lines from the original text. My group and I came to the agreement that we would do our performance on Act 4 Scene 1 from Macbeth. The group I worked with consisted of Dulce, Giselle, Laura, and Kelly and we all got together at Laura’s house to film our presentation. We all chose the lines we wanted to perform and memorized them for our final performance. During our rehearsals most of us started to get frustrated due to not being able to memorize part of our lines. However, we all encouraged each other to be patient and help one another with the lines. Furthermore, once we got our lines together we started to film
Throughout the story of Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, Macbeth acts in a much despised manner: he becomes a murderer and later, when king of Scotland, a tyrant. Many who have read or seen the play are left wondering how a man’s whole approach to life can change; how Macbeth turned from the hero whom all adored, to the tyrant who was hated and ended up a lone man, fighting for his life.
Lady Macbeth is more evil than her husband and is blamed more with the things she did. She is responsible more of the blame in the King Duncan's murder than her husband is.
Lady Macbeth is a deep and complicated character. She has many inner demons that she never comes to terms with, which inevitably lead to her suicide. She is seen as an evil, conniving woman but she goes so much deeper than that. She has high hopes for herself and uses her husband and his love for her to obtain them. All of the things she wished eventually lead to tragedy though.
The Tragedy of Macbeth would be greatly different had Lady Macbeth not been apart of it. Lady Macbeth was the puppet master for the entire scheme; she had her fingers in everything without boasting about it. Macbeth had a lot of instruction from Lady Macbeth regarding what he should and should not do. The tragedy would not have been the same without Lady Macbeth. Every little choice in life matters, every little thing that one takes into consideration when making a choice will end up affecting the outcome. In the case of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth has a lot to do with how his life turns out once he encounters the Weird Sisters. Lady Macbeth is a key character in The Tragedy of Macbeth. The tragedies in Macbeth can be blamed on various characters. However, the tragedies can be traced to the root of the story. In the beginning the witches came to Macbeth and presented a prophecy to him. The prophet gave MacBeth and Lady Macbeth motive to strive for the crown.
In the Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Lady Macbeth may have just caused Macbeth’s death. Lady Macbeth caused Macbeth’s downfall in the story, Macbeth was forced to kill King Duncan because Lady Macbeth was calling Macbeth a coward and saying that she would kill her own baby if she swore to. Macbeth did not really have a decision because he wanted to become king. Macbeth tried talking himself out of killing king Duncan but Lady Macbeth did not listen and Macbeth ended up having to kill King Duncan.

Although, Macbeth is the one who executed the king, it is Lady Macbeth who is responsible for the deaths in the play, Macbeth by Shakespeare. Lady Macbeth got news about Macbeth’s encounter with the witches from a letter sent to her by Macbeth. When Lady Macbeth finds out that Macbeth is named thane, she gets the big-headed thought of him becoming more than just thane, but king of Scotland. Then, she receives notice that the King will be attending their castle the next day. This allows Lady Macbeth to begin to construct a plan to assassinate King Duncan, the current King of Scotland, so that Macbeth will become of tremendous power. The plan fell apart
Macbeth is a tragedy of a Scottish general who dramatically “transforms” from being a noble and dutiful soldier to a ruthless butcher. This is a direct consequence of the supernatural world, his wife’s manipulation and persuasion, and Macbeth’s own ambition.
Macbeth reworks the story in Genesis of the original sin committed by Adam and Eve
The dark style of Macbeth is full of imagery created from William Shakespeare’s sinister mind, and artistic tongue. Throughout the story he compares situations and the feelings of both the reader, and the characters in the story to rather horrendous images of the mind. Indeed, Macbeth alludes to blood and sleep throughout the story, and signifies the meaning of each in different ways.
¨Each incident is driven by the supernatural. The supernatural is at the very essence of the play¨ (¨Supernatural elements in Macbeth¨). Within William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, there is a significant amount of the supernatural present, and there is a driving force behind all of it that has a goal of achieving the conclusion of the play. Different aspects of the play are highlighted due to the use of the supernatural and without it, their effectiveness would not have been the same.

In most of the plays Shakespeare writes there is a distinct difference between the men and the women.
The themes of ambition, insecurity and the power of the ego are prevalent not just in current society, but also in Scotland during the period in which this play is set. Macbeth’s own interpretation of these emotions, provoked since the first encounter with the witches, is what makes him commit ruthless and immoral actions. The supernatural
