I, Patrick Moore, want to join NJHS, and I exemplify the five pillars of NJHS necessary to do so. The five pillars of NJHS are scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service. I show these qualities through my everyday life, by going to school, doing community service, and by participating in extracurricular activities such as sports and clubs. These five qualities are more than just things in NJHS to me because I take these qualities and try to incorporate them into my life. I do this because they are important and meaningful to me.

I think that citizenship and service are linked in a way. I think that to be a good citizen and properly fulfill your role, you have to help out in the community. I do my part at school by doing what teachers ask of me, always being respectful, and by taking the time to do things the right way such as putting things in the right bins at the end of lunch. I also serve my community by doing community service hours and by picking up litter. I do community service hours by organizing food drives, volunteering at a food bank, and by helping out in a community garden. I help out in this garden by watering it, and I also take the food from it to Friendship Trays.
I desire to be a part of NJHS, and I think that I possess the qualities necessary to be in NJHS. I exemplify the quality of scholarship by how I act at school and at home. Hello, I am Ricky Goode-Wright, and I have demonstrated lots of qualities of the National Junior Honor Society, and I feel as though I have a adequate amount of skills qualities for the task. I really think that I am very qualified for National Junior Honor Society. I have seen students of NJHS making things for the community and I always join or support them because I think that helping others is a need, not an option. I am excited to be one of the candidates for the 2017-2018 National Junior Honor Society. I understand that the National Junior Honor Society is for students who demonstrate exemplary scholarship, citizenship, service, leadership, and character. I believe that I have maintained a grade point average of 3.55 or higher and have shown all of the five given standards of the National Junior Honor Society. The National Honors Junior Society is one of the nation's prime organizations established to acknowledge outstanding middle school students. In order to be eligible to be a part of this society, students must exhibit certain achievements in different areas. Students must demonstrate excellence in areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. The purpose of this prestigious organization is to provide a strong foundation for building leadership skills through service to the school and the surrounding community. In the leadership aspect, I have knowledge from workshops. I am able to be a leader without being controlling in small and large group activities. National Junior Honor Society will be a great opportunity for me. If I am accepted into NJHS I plan on keeping up my 4.0 average, balancing between school and outside of school activities, continuing to help my community/peers, and creating a specific idea to make a positive impact at the school.
