Foster Home Research Paper

Many children are suffering due to various complications in their life. Children of all ages end up in the foster care system year after year. Their hardships influence them to feel really depressed and stoic. Many people do not read autobiographies, but the book, Three Little Words by Ashley Rhodes-Courter teaches people about the complications of a first-hand foster child, how the foster care system is, and book reviews of famous authors and well-known magazines, as well. The story gives hope to people who believe there is no way out anymore, and it influences upon the world’s culture greatly.

The research topic Foster Care is the topic that has been proclaimed. The research question begins with, “What are some of the challenges facing the placement, and adjustment of Foster Care in the Valley?” This study is important because there are several challenges that are difficult for a Foster child facing being in Foster care. It is important in Social work that the Government with a Social worker must be responsible for taking away the child who is either being physical or sexual abused, neglected, or not being taken care of by their primary caregivers. In this type of situation, the child will be put into Foster care. It is key to understand the big challenges each child entering Foster care might have already experienced in the past

Raising children is one of the most important responsibilities in any society. Today, working parents have many options, but what about those children who have neither a mother nor father? What about those children who come from broken and abusive homes? In such cases there are often few choices. Parentless children may be placed in orphanages or in foster homes. Ideally, foster care offers children more personalized attention than would normally be available at a public or private situation. However, orphanage care is notoriously uneven. For my Engagement Activity I conducted a series of research activities on foster care. It wasn’t exactly a specific organization, but a variety of them. This was to have different functions of how foster care and adoption works to unite new families together.

Foster Parent One: Shelly was born and raised in Avery, TX. She is the biological daughter of Delores Jackson and David Monsiviaz. Shelly was adopted by her maternal aunt and uncle, Eura and Woodrow Hicks at the age of 3, Shelly’s mother was killed in a car accident and her father was not accept by the family due to his ethnicity. Shelly reported she was informed by her adoptive parents that her biological father was dead as well. When Shelly was an adult she searched and located him, however she has never contacted him because she feels that should have been his job.

Many people, sometimes, identify foster care as an unsuccessful attempt to help a problematic child. Many people judge foster children because the children have had unacceptable parenting, or other events in their lives that affect their behavior. There are some people whose thinking process about the foster child will turn out the same exact way as their parents. Foster care has its good benefits, as well as its bad ones. People may say foster care is a bad things because it affects the child emotional and possibly physically. The child may start to develop an act of abandonment, doubtfulness, and lack of self­confidence, due to the fact he/she is being taken away from his/her mother/father or have been through a

Foster care has been around for years, it is a place for kids with no families to go or for kids who's parents didn't want them. It isn’t all bad. When someone gives up a child, they are giving someone who wants a baby/child and can’t have any, a chance to be a parent. There are a lot of problems with the system. That is why people should keep an eye on the child, they do not understand why things happen to them. If one foster child says they are getting abused someone should watch them and they should have surveillance cameras in all rooms of the home to ensure that the children there are not mistreated. Foster care systems have lots of flaws and problems. These flaws impact the children severely. Some problems in foster care is abuse. Types of abuse that are inflicted on the children are mental, physical, and sexual. Children also often develop social and learning problems when in the foster system.

The creation of the foster care system was with the expectation to support in the child's safety and health in their personal homes. When children experience child neglect and abuse in their homes, Child Protection Services (CPS) will have to become involved and remove the child from their homes. Once the child is removed from their homes, they become a fart of the Child Welfare System for the protection of the child. Children are placed in foster care homes with foster families. A foster home is a household where a child or children are raised by someone else other than their biological or adoptive parent or parents. It is fortunate when these children are removed from the abusive state of their personal homes. However, some children who are placed into foster care homes continue to receive further abuse.

I believe "loving" is the essential characteristic that an ultimate foster parent needs to demonstrate. When parents take time to listen and to give an explanation for matters to their child, they're competent to comprehend. This creates an environment that's safe from any emotional, intellectual or physical damage. Furthermore, an ideal foster parent should practice being a positive role model. They should be shrewd in their words and actions. They should attempt to specific their wants in a positive way. An ideal foster parent should also exhibit moral and spiritual responsibility. They should let their child transform into who they genuinely is then attempting to make the kid into the person they want the child to be. They should reliably

As parents, we all are concerned about the safety and welfare of our children. But at times things get bad when families fail to have adequate resources to provide for the children. Even the environment they are born in, sometimes become unsafe for them. This is the time when services like long term fostering in Greenwich, comes in handy for the families and for the child.

All throughout the country millions of young African Americans are being subjected to immense hardships in life. These children are the product of unfortunate scenarios that they have no control over such as the children's biological parents abusing or neglecting them. We expect Children’s services to take these kids and place them in a safe environment, unfortunately the foster care system places kids from one horrible place to possibly an even worse one. Growing up in the foster care system myself, I have seen and experienced the horrendous abuse children can be subjected to. African Americans children make up a greater percentage of people in foster care and also are taken from their parents at twice the rate of white children. Sometimes children could even be taken from their biological parents unjustly. Sadly little is done to assist them.. The premise behind my company is to aid and assist in facilitating children, but at the same time also adhering to high ethical standards so that this program can uplift children and not destroy them.

The main goal of the agency is to ensure age out foster youth continued to success as an adult after they exit foster care at the age of 18. The need of this program is because adolescents who exit foster care at the age of 18 have a higher percentage of difficulties in transition to life on their own. These adolescents have limited education, lack of fund to meet basic needs, early pregnancies, inability to obtain healthcare services, homelessness, and involvement with the criminal justice system (Ahmann & Dokken, 2017). Even though many of these adolescents received a type of training for independent living, few of them reported concrete assistance (Reilly, 2003). Many of these adolescents lacked self-esteem and self-confidence to succeed without help (Sims, 1988). These adolescents have been receiving help throughout foster care and reported that they were never required to do anything by themselves. Unfortunately, at the age of 18, many leave with no help or support from anyone. Some are lucky enough to continue to receive support from foster families or biological families.

One day that changed my life was the day I went into foster care.I will never forget that day. I remember going to school that day i was sitting in class and the S.R.O came and got me from class. I felt like something bad was going to happen. I was right they took me into foster care. They took me from school and then when we were leaving the school they asked me if i knew where my mom and brother were i didn’t know.

The parents need to understand that the main goal is reunification of the child with his parent. They also need to know the demands of the child and of the foster care system.
