There are many different fourth of July celebrations throughout Gaston County. This summer, I celebrated the fourth of July in Ranlo, observing fireworks the small town presented. There was food and beverage sales before the fireworks as well as music to get the community pumped and to promote the annual event. Many people around Gaston County get excited to congregate and celebrate the fourth of July as a community. Fireworks are a tradition throughout the county, creating a fun and exciting environment for families to integrate and enjoy fourth of July events. The fourth of July is dedicated to honor America’s independence from Great Britain in 1776. Not only do firework celebrations throughout the county symbolize family fun and unity …show more content…
I found out about the fireworks show in Ranlo from word of mouth, which is how a lot of people find out about different community events within Gaston County. I decided to go in order to spend time with my friends and memorialize the fourth of July in a fun, yet traditional way. Even though Ranlo is a rather small town, a large part of the community gathered to watch the fireworks. There were hundreds of residents there, mostly families. Since the fireworks embody fun and celebration, it is no surprise that many families gather to watch them together. There were just as many children as there were adults, as well as about the same amount of males as females. Firework celebrations are targeted for families and children who are looking for a fun time, and Ranlo’s audience was no acception. During the event, a lot of people were excited and content, clearly in the mood for celebrating. Smaller children started to grow anxious because they were ready for the fireworks to start. Halfway through the fireworks show, one set of fireworks accidentally triggered a lot of fireworks to go off at ground level. Everyone at the event started to grow worried that someone was hurt, but luckily no one was injured and the firework show was finished as
The Fourth of July is the nation’s birthday, but it is also a time for everyone to get together and mingle for hours on hours. Countless number of friends and family get together on the beach for barbeques, parties, watch the sun set sink away and have an amazing night full fireworks. Having the chance to have spent my 2015 Fourth of July along Ft. Lauderdale beach was the best time of my life. It brought such joy and excitement to be able to spend the holiday with family and friends.
Not all families celebrate the Fourth of July the same, some people don’t even celebrate this day. Other people will have a dinner, have a party, or just watch the fireworks. Some people will do it to show that they respect what people had done for their freedom. People think and know
Abraham Lincoln has said, “Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.” Frederick Douglass was an escaped slave who firsthand experienced the atrocities of slavery. Within an excerpt from “What, to the Slave, Is the Fourth of July?,” Frederick Douglass employs syntax, juxtaposition, and imagery in order to demonstrate the irony around the celebration of freedom on the Fourth of July. Douglass illustrates his purpose by displaying this irony because during the celebration of freedom by the white men, there are still a myriad of slaves who have yet to receive emancipation.

Patriot day is considered the deadliest day in history for NYC firefighters because of the 343 that were killed (history.com). September 11, 2001 was an extremely tragic day for the United States. In particular, it was an extremely tragic day for New York City & Washington, D.C. On this Tuesday morning, at 8:45 a.m., the Unites States was attacked by terrorists. The terrorists hijacked four airplanes in mid-flight. They flew two of the planes into the twin towers at the World Trade Center in New York City (scholastic.com). The terrorists were 19 militants that were associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda, led by Osama bin Laden, from Saudi Arabia that carried out suicide attacks against targets in the U.S. A third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a Pennsylvania field (history.com). Officials believe the terrorists on that plane intended on destroying either the White House or the U.S. Capitol. Some of the passengers on that plane fought the terrorists and
Every Summer, people in the United States celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which legally separated the thirteen original colonies separate from the British Empire. We celebrate on the Fourth of July, but the actual voting for the separation occurred on July 2, 1776 when the Second Continental Congress voted for the approval. It took Thomas Jefferson and the Committee of Five two more days to draft the document. The Declaration of Independence was signed on the Fourth of July by 56 men who represented the 13 colonies. 2 future presidents, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson signed it in addition to Benjamin Franklin. John Dickson, a delegate from Pennsylvania refused to sign the article stating it
Fireworks have been a symbol of America’s freedom ever since that Fourth of July in 1777. Something about the luminous streaks of light radiating from the sky mesmerizes Americans when they see it. There is no greater joy than to watch the red, white and blue stripes proclaiming to all, “America is free, and proud to be that way!” Now, however, that blood-tingling, heart-thrashing scenario is gone, stamped with a big red “X” by some bureaucrat. The eye-popping pyrotechnics are no more, all one has left to do on the Fourth of July is hold a stick burning at 2000°F. Sounds delightful, does it not? Why not talk some sense to the people of Illinois, especially
But it doesn’t end there. After the fireworks,
"Boom! Pow! Sounds that are immediately followed by Ahh's and cheers. For most of us these sounds are all too familiar at annual 4th of July firework celebrations. However, what would a 4th of July celebration be without the glimmering colors of our nation. People all over our country are able to share in the excitement of fireworks partly due to the effects of one element. The glow of a child’s face from “Glow in the dark” paint is able to work - again- because of the effects of one element. However, the feelings of happiness and pleasure are not constricted to only the red glow of paints and flares. This amazing element is also able to bring pleasure and
He didn’t have to tell me much about this because I have grown up in the County parks, therefor I know their services and the locations. As I stated previously, they have over 15 county parks that they are in charge of around the Flint area. These 15 places are a variety of parks and they are always offering fun things to do. For example, Crossroads Village is an old village that they have kept in great shape. They decorate it for both Christmas and Halloween. Along with this, they have a train that’s called Huckleberry Railroad that they open to the public, every year the train rides sell out. The point of these two big days are to bring the community together and allow people to enjoy themselves. The Genesee County parks have great places where people can go just to enjoy themselves and have a great

As Francie continues to tempt John, the romantic suspense builds as the firework display continues. As the scene progresses, the fireworks displays goes from simple to out of control. Fireworks are one of those things that everyone loves to see every chance they can get. Acme Fireworks wants to start showing fireworks on the regular basis, but it will cost more to hire more people for the labor, insurance, and the service of setting off the fireworks. I will determine if the contract with the businesses will be governed by common law or the Uniform Commercial Code and explain why, analyze whether the owner formed the contract with the business and apply the five essential elements of an enforceable contract. I will explain the potential personal liability to Acme Fireworks if a spectator is injured by a stray firework from a fireworks display, discuss the difference employment types and relationships relevant to agency law and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each type specific to Acme Fireworks. I will also explain why Acme Fireworks should not operate as a sole proprietorship and I will recommend a new business entity and provide rationale to support my recommendation.
