George Washington: A Brave Character

I was born on Sept. 24, 1755 in Germantown, Virginia. My parents, Thomas Marshall and Mary Randolph Keith, had 15 children of which I was the oldest. While growing up, my parents homeschooled my 14 siblings and me, and later I was sent to one year of boarding school at the Campbell Academy, where I was classmates with James Monroe. While growing up in a politically connected family, my parents brought great influence into the household, knowledge and character wise. My father was a sheriff and a land surveyor, and my mother was the daughter of a clergyman and her bloodline could be drawn back to the Lees and Randolphs. In 1775, during the summer time, the Continental Congress was convinced by John Adams to create an army that is a unified continental. Adams then convinced the Continental Congress to make George Washington, whom was a Virginian Colonel, a general. Washington's overall demeanor, characteristics, actions and many other forms of his altogether way he was, essentially helped Americans become victorious. Not only was Washington a great leader, he also was very fierce and held many military defeats. Washington was able to obtain the knowledge to understand that the Americans needed to fight a defensive war in order to see victory amongst themselves. This knowledge aso allowed him to be aware of how to dodge the direct obstacle of the more mighty armies within Britain

Have you ever tried to start a government in a new country with no example, no rules, all while trying to keep the people you are directing happy? If you answered yes, you’d be lying. How do I know? Because you aren’t George Washington. However much people criticize him, they probably couldn’t do any better. George Washington was an extremely effective president. He created a new government, cabinet, and showed how a president should act.

Before George Washington was president, he was put as the commander for the American Revolution. At that time the government were to thought the troop would end the war into a solution. Though, the troops were in a poor situation, they had low pay, which made it hard to sacrifice their lives while living in low pay. As his first step as a commander, George started to take political stands on to the British Parliament. Though as a commander, George had proved his role by leading the army to victory.

In this beautiful nation called the United States of America, the word united stands out to me in the title. At first this nation was not united. So then I started thinking, "how did we get to this point?" "who started the turning point of our nation to make us united?" And as I was pondering these things I thought of the very first president in a long list of history who accomplished so much... George Washington. He was by far the strongiest president because the example he set for future presidents and his leadership abilities.

Courageous, Noble, and Respectable are just a few words that can be said about George Washington. He was the first president that laid the foundation for future presidents to come; he was a soldier and one of the founding fathers of the United States. His courage in battle and the amount of respect he earned made him the perfect candidate for the first president of the United States and is the reason why I would like to ask him a few questions. I would ask him in an interview, why did you decide to form the cabinet, why do you think you were chosen to lead the Continental Army into battle, what advice did you give for the United States in the future, Why did you give a farewell address and Why did you serve only two terms as president?

He began to oppose the growing tax burden that Britain was imposing on the colonies. In March 17th 1775, George Washington was elected to the first continental congress. One month later, the American Revolution war began. Washington was literally the man on the horseback, who rolled back to the second continental congress, ready to take charge of the patriot army. In March 17th 1776, Washington’s army won its first victory, beating the British in Boston. The British evacuated Boston and Washing moved his army to New York City. However, within month Washington was forced to flee New York City. George Washington lost battle after battle, but he never lost the war. He always lived to fight again another day. On Christmas night 1776, Washington attacked the British. George Washington was a guerrilla leader, and he was using guerrilla tactics to fight with British when they crossed the Delaware River. George Washington defeated the British in Princeton and Trenton, but following with those victories was a long harsh winter for the continental army. Would you consider someone who freed a country a hero? What if they also demonstrated great leadership skills? Or, if they improved the way a system worked for people? George Washington did. George Washington is a hero for sure. I say that because he freed America from oppressing British rule. When America needed a president, he accepted the job. And all throughout his presidency and leadership career, he demonstrated that he cares and that people can put their trust in him. George Washington is the best example of a hero you can find.

He was born February 22, 1732 but forever lives in American history. He was a large component of the French and Indian War and achieved many accomplishments as a military leader and soldier. There have been several presidents who have earned the title 'great' for the leadership and vision they demonstrated during their service in the White House, including Thomas Jefferson, James K. Polk, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan. Today however I want to honor one president above all others, George Washington. Every country needs a great leader in order to help cultivate a thriving nation. George Washington embodied the qualities of a great leader during the American Revolution. His tactical, strategic, and logistical military experience helped alongside his consistent efforts, which enabled him to win many battles and the war.
