If you are like me, you have grown bored with the theme parks, not to mention the expense, in Orlando, Florida. Here are a few ideas that have been fun-filled and educational for our family. We travel in a camper, which opens a whole new world of travel. If you don 't have a camper, one can be rented from almost any RV salesperson. There are many places to park and enjoy the beach at your leisure. You will be passing through several small towns that offer the traveler sights and services. Make sure you plan a day or two stop in the oldest city St. Augustine, Florida. The shops and sights are well worth a two day stop. From here continue south and visit Daytona Beach, the home of the first NASCAR race. Number 2: From Atlanta, Georgia head North on Interstate 75. Make sure when you get to Calhoun, you exit and follow the signs to Echota. This is the location of the first Cherokee Indian Capitol. There is a great museum showing the life of the Cherokee Nation. Two of the biggest theme parks in Orlando, Florida are Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida. Both of the theme parks are huge competitors when it comes to getting customers and money. Every year as a tradition my family gets together to go on a vacation to Orlando, Florida during the summer. Though it may be the same location every year, we create new experiences with each visit.
