As a child, one of the most difficult parts about growing up was accepting the fact that I did not have the same lifestyle as other students. I was raised in the hands of two lovely parents, who came to the United States as Immigrants hoping for a better life. Things were never easy in our household, and most of the time my parents had to work double jobs in order to keep a roof over our heads. Most children at the age of five didn’t stress about their homework assignments, because they knew that their parents would help them when they needed it. I, on the other hand, had to go home knowing that my parents wouldn’t have the faintest idea what my assignment said. To this day, I still remember having to translate for my parents, and them telling me that everything will work out in the end. My parents came from El Salvador, a small country that is nowadays referred to as the most violent peacetime country. Both of them hold an education level that reaches fifth grade. According to them, their childhood was stripped away the moment their parents had no choice but to remove them from school; the reason being that there wasn’t …show more content…
The money itself would be my starting point, and bring me closer to the bigger picture I have in mind. This summer I will be attending Florida International University where I will be planning to graduate with a degree in Forensic Chemistry. I want to make a change in the world, by helping victims of abuse prove their innocence and convicting those who roam the streets freely without deserving it. As I mentioned before, my parents came from El Salvador where violence is very common. I hope to become a forensic scientist for the greater good; by using the knowledge I gain to discover the truth behind fingerprints, blood samples, and teeth impressions. My expertise will put to rest the mystery of death, and bring a sense of justice to people across the
I am an active member of my school and community. At school I feel that i've gained the respect of my peers being elected as Student Council representative for the past four years. I have also been elected the treasurer of the choir, and secretary of the band. After school on Wednesdays I assist Ms. Rullman in helping students with homework and enhancing study methods. I am currently participating in science olympiad and have in the past. No one can control what family they are born into nor what struggles are destined for them in the future. By the age of nine, my parents could no longer help me with my homework, rather they could only offer a few words of encouragement. The language barrier and cultural clash we experienced as a family put me at a disadvantage compared to other children my age.
Senior year rapidly is coming to an end, I’ve had the opportunity to see many of my friends come to the exciting moment in their life when they sign that dotted line and I was still waiting on my chance. My entire life I had dreamt of the day to finally committed to a college basketball team, this was my goal and it had to be my purpose in life. January 18, 2015 at 4:41 PM I got an exciting text from Truett-Mcconnell’s head coach, Matt Sanders, stating,” Good afternoon Claudia this is Coach Sanders from Truett-Mcconnell College, and I really feel like we need to begin the recruiting process with you! Sorry to bother you on a Sunday, but I just didn’t want to let time slip away! I look forward to hearing back from you!” Here was my chance!
I hope you’re having a great summer. I just got back to Tallahassee from the EY ELP in Seattle and had an amazing time! We went on a sunset dinner cruise and got to see the Amazon headquarters. I’d love to catch up and chat about my next steps moving forward. Would you have time talk sometime soon? Thanks so much for everything!
As a Catholic community we must seek to live the life that Christ has shown us, to serve rather than be served. Our daily lives must begin and end with the love for God. And with our strong faith community, we can achieve greatness in all that we do.

For children without the advantage of origin of birth, struggles throughout the formative years will affect their learning process and expectations for the future. Many immigrant children suffer the same disadvantages as children in poverty. This fact should not be ignored when considering expectations for a future college degree. Freire posits that the cycle of dehumanization can only be broken when a “radical posture” is taken by the oppressor, a posture in which the oppressor enters into the situation of the oppressed through humility (44, 48, 49). An empathetic approach to individuals is essential if we are to understand the challenges they face and have a realistic hope for future success and change.

I would really like to thank you for your contribution on making Gilliam Collegiate Academy a wonderful and productive campus. Coming to Gilliam has been an honoring commitment. I have met incredible people I can now call friends and teachers who have really made an impact in my education. I have come a long way and I am happy to say that I will be graduating this upcoming spring. In the past few years that I been at Gilliam I can truly say that I have no complains about this building. It is truly beautiful but this school campus does have one huge impacting issue, the sewage smell. I cannot confirm the exact number of classroom with this problem, but I do remember being I at least classroom with unpleasant odor. A couple of instructors have
I would love to thank you for your time. I realized that I had went over your office hours, that is, I left 5:15 p.m. Thanks for taking the time to not only listen to my problems, but helping me to solve them. I have been having a difficult and rough transition at the Boca Raton campus. I understand that I am not alone and I am trying to make a difference as a senior student. Also, I think students should be notified of the rules and regulations on all FAU campus. I have seen students back up while parking, but I guess you are not suppose to and I did not know that. I feel so bad that I have been doing all the wrong things in Jupiter. Unfortunately, I learnt the hard way, due to the ticket displayed on my car. Again, you have been of great
