Do you have a kite project on The Kite Runner due soon? If so you have come to the right place to get your kite on the themes of guilt and redemption. My kite is perfect to either fly outside on a nice windy day, or to use for a project for school. I chose the theme of guilt, because it is a major plot line of the book as it changes the story once it first started. Guilt was shown in the story, when Amir let Hassan get abused by Assef in the alley, aswell as well as throwing pomegranates at Hassan in attempt to please his guilt. Another theme I chose was redemption, and I chose this due to the fact that it was also another major plotline in the story, as Amir attempted to fix all of his past mistakes he had made. Representation of redemption in the story, is Amir receiving a cleef lip from Assef after the fight, as well as Amir saving Sohrab from the orphanage. …show more content…

My pictures I chose were a pomegranate, and Sohrab. Pomegranate is on my kite, because it goes along with the theme of guilt as Amir attempts to start a fight with Hassan by throwing them at him, in order to help heal his guilt with not stopping the rape. I put Sohrab on my kite, as Amir is sent by Rahim Khan to rescue him, and with this Amir can redeem his actions, by helping Hassan's son. As for the symbols, I picked a picture of a cleft lip, and a kite flying competition. Cleft lip in the end of the story symbolizes redemption, as Amir receives this in his battle with Assef, a fight to redeem himself for his past actions.
