In 2011 at Seal Beach, California eight people died when a man decided to storm into a hair salon and shoot people. In 2012 in Oakland, California seven people died at a university when a former student went insane and started shooting at random targets. Even though all of these shootings occurred it was not because of guns. On April 15, 2013, two Muslim refugees set off two bombs at the Boston Marathon killing and injuring people no guns were involved in this incident. They made the bombs out of pressure cookers. So if the people that think banning guns would solve any problems is ridiculous. You can kill someone with almost anything. By their logic should pressure cookers be banned also? Many mass shootings have occurred but that does not mean that guns should be banned. On September 11, 2001, 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four planes. Two of the planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City. The third plane crashed into the Pentagon. The last plane crashed into a field because of very brave citizens. Over three thousand people were killed in this attack, and there was not a single gun

Ever since the Second Amendment was established, it has become one of the most important rights for a citizen today. In 1789, James Madison outlined the Bill of Rights, adding in the Second Amendment. Initially, it was meant to offer security to anti-federalists who feared that the government might extract too much power. Contrary to popular belief, the Second Amendment is not granting the people the right to bear arms, but instead works as a reminder for the government that it is a natural right for the people. Today, the Second Amendment reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” (Acosta).
Arms, shall not be infringed.” The government has no right to change the amendment and placing a ban and enforcing stricter regulations is yet another invasion of our liberty. By placing restrictions on gun ownership, citizens will feel insecure and more defenseless. FBI crime statistics show that more people are murdered by clubs and hammers than rifles and shotguns. Gun control a very heated debate in the u.s. Many people want to take away all fire arms from everyone. This is not a very good solution because the people not allowed to have fire arms still will be able to obtain them how they have always obtained them illegally. Leaving the ordinary citizens defense less to the criminals with fire arms and the government. We must take fire arms out of the wrong hands and leave them in the right hands. Doing this would mean not allowing criminals with a past of violent crimes obtain guns or have a menatally ill person obtAIN A FIRE ARM. iN DOING THIS WE WILL SEE A DRAMATIC CHANGE IN FIRE ARM VIOLENCE.

The controversial issue of gun control is one of the most debatable topics among politicians and civilians alike. This is because of the complexity of gun control and the long history that is related to the subject. Gun control is typically an effort, by the government, to create legislation that regulates the sale and use of firearms within the country. There are various arguments that surround this topic which include gun-related violence, accidents, self-defense, murders, suicide, constitutional rights, and so on. James Q. Wilson, a professor who has taught at Pepperdine University, Harvard University, and the University of California, Los Angeles, and a published author of several books, take a negative stance on the subject of gun control. Wilson contributed to the gun control debate in the last few years with his written op-ed article. According to Wilson, there is no possible method to eradicate the hundreds and millions of guns that exist within the country, restrictive gun laws will not significantly affect the United States’ murder rate, and that guns play an important role in self-defense in everyday lives. Contrary to what Wilson believes, strict gun control is necessary and should be enforced to ensure public safety because gun laws have the power to produce a positive outcome in the long run, reduce gun-related violence, and reduce the numerous risks that gun ownership open.
