Grand Theft Auto isn’t life and should not be pursued, music shouldn’t be a melody of gun shots, music videos shouldn’t be an explicit promotional film, and parents should consider how violence will impact their children(s) life. Not monitoring your kids activity in the media can result in their brain being mesmerized by the violence and becoming a criminal and you wouldn’t know it because him/her kept it clandestine due to your lack of parenting. It’s inevitable. Violence is being viewed from all angles on the media. Recent reports shows that the internet does not perform no serious censors before advertisement. According to the article Despite Ratings, Children Are Still Exposed to Violent Media as I quote Noah Berlatsky, “... there are no movie industry standards for internet advertising, and the report notes violent R-rated movies were routinely advertised on Web sites popular with kids.” Therefore, even if parents did eliminate television shows and certain games, kids can still accidentally engage in the violence in the media by just using a websites and a advertisement pops up. Essentially, in 2011 the famous singer Rihanna premiered her video ‘‘Man Down’’ which portrayed a rape scene with a man whom she gunned down later in act of premeditated murder. ‘’A graphic portrayal of the singer getting back at an attacker by shooting him in cold blood in a crowded train station and then fleeing the scene is potentially the worst possible message that could be sent.’’ said, Mellissa Henson from Music Videos Glorifying Violence Sends the Wrong Message. National television will premiere anything that will gain publicity no matter if it’s violent or not. From producers to directors there isn’t no guideline on how their work will be produce and aired just as long as it’s generating revenue. The message Rihanna provided may be understood wrongly and can result into a tragedy. That’s why we should censor and take more action on what is being viewed
