The Halifax explosion happened on December 6th,1917 at approximately 9:04am. The explosion occured at the Halifax Harbour shortly after a collision between "Mont Blanc" a French ammunition ship and "Imo" a Beligrian relief ship. Since Halifax harbour had a long history of association with the Navy, it was considered to be a military town. It provided supplies for the war and within 3 years the harbour began to evolve/grow rapidly. On December 3rd the Imo arrived at Halifax to refuel beacsue they were headed to New York to load relief supplies. However in order to leave Halifax, clearance was required from the British Naval Authority, Commander Frederick Wyatt, who was in charge of all harbor traffic.Commander Wyatt also received a telegram
On the morning of December 6, 1917, a tragic disaster prevailed itself in the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. During WW1, the cause of this tragedy was the collision of two ships; the Norwegian vessel SS Imo and the Belgian steamer, the Mont Blanc which occurred in front of the Halifax port. Halifax played a crucial role during the war because it was deemed the docking station where soldiers and supplies were sent overseas. Essentially, The Halifax Explosion was the largest blast in Canadian history, which in turn caused rigorous turmoil throughout the nation; despite such devastation, alleviation teams came to help seatone Halifax.
These are the survivors thoughts on the Triangle Factory Fire. There was over 100 survivors but I choose two of the most important people who lived from the fire and I am sharing their thoughts.
After the explosion, the yellow press proclaimed that “The Maine was destroyed by treachery”. Although there is no evidence to support their assertion, but this assume give a possible explanation of the explosion, and successfully make a lot of people believed in it. Not only one press, but a lot of yellow press start making rumours about this explosion and they are announcing “The warship Maine was split in two by an enemy’s secret infernal machine”. These announcement make people think that the Spain government is behind this thing.
The unfortunate event that took place on April 19, 1995 was a day that would change history throughout the nation in an unimaginable way due to the tragic circumstances that unfortunately unfolded. The Oklahoma City Bombing impacted the United States greatly because something of such devastation had never before occurred in this way up until that point in American history. This in fact would be an event that no one anticipated, no one knew anything of, but it would certainly be an eye opening day and a call for change.

However, Halifax is the provincial capital of Nova Scotia and it is famous for its magnificent Atlantic coast. Also, Halifax has undergone huge urban development and economic growth and is now recognized as one of the largest coastal cities in Canada regarding its historical, physical, economic and cultural diversities.(62)
The Oklahoma Bombing was one of the most disastrous, overwhelming attacks in America’s history. One horrible man went through with this plan to destroy many people’s lives just because of his own paranoia. What happened the day of the Triangle Fire? What progressed after it? On Saturday, March 25, 1911. At 4:25, which was 5 minutes before closing time at the Triangle Shirt Factory. The Triangle factory, owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris, was located on the top three floors of the Asch Building, floors 8, 9, and 10. Some cutters were smoking, even though it was prohibited. Though it is not certain, people believe that a cutter flicked a cigarette butt or hot ash, into one of the waste bins with flammable cloth in them. Death is what causes things to be changed whether it is for good or bad, and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire death toll caused legislation to be enacted to ensure employee safety. This tragedy took the lives of 146 men and women and spurred an outcry for employee safety. Until this point there were very few regulation of employee safety, and this tragedy changed the scope of employee relations. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire was a tragedy, court case and legislation starter.
The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory took place on March 25th, 1911 which led to 145 deaths. These deaths could have been prevented if the owner’s, Max Blanck and Isaac Harris would have kept up on proper maintenance within the building. There were several reasons why they should have been found guilty for manslaughter, but the courts found them to be not guilty. The reasons are as follows; doors were locked from the outside, water pressure in the hoses wasn’t sufficient and the hose nozzle was rusted shut, no sprinkler system found anywhere in the building, and only 3 of the 4 elevators were in good working order.
On the 25th of March in the year 1911 in the city of New York City, a tragic event took place. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory caught on fire inside of the work areas. The factory was located in the eighth, ninth, and tenth floors of the Asch Building on the corner of Washington Place and Greene Street on the island of Manhattan. This workplace was a real “sweatshop”. Its main employers were young immigrant women, who rarely spoke English. They worked 12 hours a day, everyday and only made a total of about $12 a week. The rules were said to be very strict and one was that cigarettes were not allowed but many say that they were often sneaked in and that is rumored to what have started the fire in the excess rag bin. An example of this was the Haymarket bombing towards the Chicago police during the pace of events. The bombing’s hurt workers’ rights and limited the union use of mass strikes. The rally began peacefully in the evening of May 4. Spies, Albert Parson and Samuel Fielden spoke to the crowd which was estimated to be about 3000 persons. A home-made bomb with a brittle metal casing filled with dynamite and ignited by a fuse, was thrown into the path of the advancing police. Its fuse briefly sputtered, then the bomb exploded, killing policeman Mathias J. Degan with flying metal fragments and mortally wounding six other officers. In June, people wake up to get ready and go to work. However, most of the people worked in a huge office space building. It was about 120 stories tall. In the building, there were security guards in the front checking people in. A man walked by and noticed there were some new people. He trotted up and welcomed them to the huge building.
